Local Government can’t keep letting the protesters get away with these things — to block access to public property to people they pretend to represent... What about the Poor and the Homeless Veterans they purport to want to help. Shutting down a celebration of our veterans is anti-community.

Another topic I feel compelled to mention: The Health and Sanitation at most of these Occupy Camps are starting to be a serious threat to Public Health — another thing they purport to want to improve.

At the Occupy Atlanta Camp the protesters have started to become ill with Infectious Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis. The risks are also very high at this point of outbreaks of Dysentary, Cholera, Typhus, not to mention the likelihood of Flu Outbreaks among the OWS crowd/camps in the coming weeks. I guess we’re lucky they’re close to the CDC, eh?

Who thought that in 2011 we would be seeing a group of people living in tents in the inner cities and as a result would see camp living conditions unlike we’ve seen since the Civil War? They’ll probably all come down with “Camp Fever”!

There are also risks inherent in the colder climes of people dying of exposure whether due to Concurrent Health Problems, or simple drunken and/or drugged carelessness, or through crime.

I would be content to let Nature do what it does if these people are ignorant enough to stay in that kind of environment (provided small children are not being put at unnecessary risk). However, these diseases are infectious and in the case of a cluster it can easily be passed outside the camp itself into the general population.

The more people are exposed, the more people will become infected and spread it from there. This is a rather serious issue, and one I hope the normal people among OWS supporters will recognize this and convince their friends that this isn’t a smart plan of attack - if children start dying of 3rd world diseases and it started in these camps people are NOT going to listen to anything you’re saying.

All JMHO. Honestly, I don’t WANT to see people dying in the streets - basically committing suicide by refusing to protect themselves from themselves. The police won’t have to do a thing because everyone will be too busy being sick to do anything but lay down. And most especially I don’t want a group of rebellious people who act like children and encourage violence causing illnesses that could take our children from us.

What dereliction of duties on the part of local authorities and the media who all gloss over the nasty little details you listed.

Community leaders are pandering for votes and the media seems more concerned with their alleged “plight” as the weather gets colder, the surrounding business people get angrier and the demonstraters themselves become more violent and deranged.

Sometimes I just can’t believe the times we’re living in and the aberrant thought processes that rule the day.
