Beans on toast is excellent eating. British beans taste completely different (better!) to American beans though.

In what way?

All the beans I had in England were just Heinz vegetarian baked beans.

They don't even have pork in em!

"British beans taste better"

Gee, that's what my wife says about every kind of food...the British version tastes better. The fact is, I've tasted British food, and while it's not too bad, I couldn't discern any particular taste advantage over Yank food.

Here's some advice, if you ever visit Britain, you might not want to order steak. Unless, of course, you can afford to eat at the swankier restaurants. The best food I ate in Britain was in Scotland. They have a fabulous fast food fish place in Aberdeen called Mike's Famous Fish or something like that. In Inverness, if you want a steak, you might try The Mustard Seed. Pretty good steaks there. Incidentally, Ireland beat both Scotland and England for restaurant or pub food quality in our visit there with Scotland a close second.
