The cleanest way to eliminate all corruption is to make the tax code SIMPLE, and with no loop holes. Then the lobbyists lose their entire usefulness.
Best post of the week. One of the biggest factors in the rise of corruption has been the slow deterioration of the 1986 tax reform legislation. "Targeted" tax cuts are the devil's work.
Preferential regulations dwarf the influence in the tax code.
First you limit time that congress is in session then you pass laws that make it a felony to take any money, gifts rides, ticket anything that you did not pay for. Then outlaw lobbyist in Washington D. C.!!!!! Oh yea make it a felony to buy or sell stock while in congress!!!
The cleanest way to eliminate government corruption is to limit the length of time anyone can serve in the House and the Senate. Many State gov’ts do this why not the Feds? It certainly would cut out the lifetime benefits.

Yes indeed, that is called draining the swamp, cleaning up the cess pool in this case literally.
Democrats would have us attempt to go after & attack each and every lobbies with a law or amendment. If that were possible it would have worked when we did have laws against theses things.
It is not possible for goverment to successfully go after each and every one who attempts to lobbies for 2 reasons:
1: Disinterest, As it happens not only are Goverment political not inanely interested in honestly prosecuting their bread & butter, so too is the bureaucrats that “work for politicians”.
2: There are an infinite number of lobbyist and a finite number of federal courts, prosecutors, and watch dogs with an even more finite supply public attention to keep the same honest(due to issue #1). No sooner could you catch one then 50 more will pop up else where.
You either drain the swamp or they who are native to the swamp will rule the swamp.
