I don't have time right now, but from what I've heard via XMSIRIUS talk radio, these are consulting fees and not lobbying fees.

I don't know if there is a difference, but I would THINK there is.

Anyway, not having made up my mind, I'm still looking at Newt for the betterment of our nation, and I'm not sure whom to settle on.

I'm starting to think there are too many good people in the race and NO ONE is the perfect conservative.

“these are consulting fees and not lobbying fees”

Right. Just like Freddie Mac, I’m sure they were only paying Newt $37 million for his historical perspective. /s

And I’m sure it had nothing to do with imposing a healthcare mandate nationwide (obamacare) which obviously benefits the healthcare industry, by forcing everyone to buy their product.

It’s the lamebrain Cain supporters. They somehow think he can debate BHO on the issues. Cain would be our worst candidate...he couldn’t win a history debate with a 5th grader. Cain is ill prepared...he was out to sell books...that’s all. It would take a good year to get Cain caught up on the economy and foreign policy. He’s funny and a ladies man...but he’s no President I want.

I think that’s great. The more money his think tank made the better. AT least he didn’t fleece the country while in office like the current bunch of thieves are doing, on both sides.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it is a duck. If someone comes forward and talks about being called by dear old newt about which way he/she should vote on a pending measure, he may be looking at charges.

if newt were a democrat what would you call his actions. Be honest now.

"I'm starting to think there are too many good people in the race and NO ONE is the perfect conservative."

After the field is narrowed to one Presidential candidate, the entire field needs to become an "administration package of experts" to counter this country's present anti-conservative agenda.

The new "Contract with America".

Nobody’s perfect, knarf. Rush was talking about this yesterday but I’m afraid I nodded off as so many of us do when trying to understand complicated financial stuff.

I understand when Tom Thumb has avocados for one dollar but when one gets to 37 mil ... anyway, Rush was ‘splainin’ that it’s a consulting fee.

Whether Newt profited wrongly or not, I have no idea. It’s probably in the ‘everybody does it’ category.

Newt remains my second choice unless he screws up even more.

The man was paid to give his opinion and guidance. He was asked specific questions and gave specific answers to the outfit that hired him. That’s why he got paid.

Because his answer to the outfit that hired him for his guidance got an answer to their direct question doesn’t mean that Newt doesn’t have his own opinion of how the US Government should be presided over.

It starting to look like a lot of folks here want The Messiah for four more years.

Advising a third party is not advocating! Big difference.

If health care providers and insurance carriers were asking for his advice - it was very likely related to onerous Federal regulations and the potential for Obamacare.

You don’t hire an electrician to design slip covers or an interior designer to fix your plumbing. Newt’s clients got their money’s worth and Newt got an education in private enterprise.

“these are consulting fees and not lobbying fees.”

Is there really a difference?
