King Abdullah: 'Israel Has an Expiration date'

Israel Radio reported Monday morning that King Abdullah of Jordan said "Israel has an expiration date."

Abdullah's comments were reportedly made to the BBC last week. During the interview Abdullah said Israel's survival was dependent on a two-state solution. Israel does not realize it needs such a solution, he added.

Abdullah added his government would increase pressure on Israel to reach a final status agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

He did not, however, provide any concrete facts to buttress his oft repeated assertion of Israel's imminent doom.

Israel remains a regional leader in the realms of economics, military, science, and technology.

Meanwhile, former defense minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said Israel cannot afford to cut the defense budget because Israel is likely to find itself in renewed conflict with Egypt in the long-run.

I’ve noticed lately that a number of islamic regimes younger than Israel have already expired. Jordan could be next.

Here's a golden oldie:

The Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations had just finished giving a speech, and walked out into the lobby where he met President Bush.

They shook hands, and as they walked the Iranian said, ''You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America.''

President Bush said, "Well, anything I can do to help you, I will."

The Iranian whispered: ''My son watches this show 'Star Trek' and in it there is Chekhov who is Russian, Scotty who is Scottish, Uhura who is Black, and Sulu who is Chinese, but no Arabs. My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any Iranians, Syrians, or Iraqis on "Star Trek."

President Bush laughed, leaned toward the Iranian ambassador, and whispered: ''It's because it takes place in the future.''

[ Read Revelation, you camel jockey! Look at who laughs last at your Satanic fury toward God’s chosen! ]

I have read it many times.. and I’m no Sand Monkey..

Revelation is garbed in all manner of metaphorical symbols and allusions..
The “book” is the “Revelation of Jesus Christ” (Rev1;1)
NOT a revelation of whoever you are... its NOT literal..

10 people read it, ten people get 10 different ideas...
That’s the way it is supposed to be, I suspect..
course theres room for the superstitious to “dream” as well..

What I get, may not be what you get.. out of it..
Quite brilliant to make a writing like that..
Truth is most people never even read it.. or care (at all)..
As the book fully describes how it “will be”.. NOW!..

Very scary way to put it

I've read this article a few times now, and I think that there's a major translation flaw.

I don't think that "expiration" is being used in the "expire" (or "end") sense. I think it's being used in the "deadline" sense.

That's a really significant difference in meaning. Along the lines of Khrushchev's "We will bury you" comment - by which he (erroneously) meant that Communism would outlast Capitalism, not that Communism would destroy/kill Capitalism.

..................< Sure, Arabs, barbarians that they are, won't tolerate Jews in thier midst. The King knows that. Heck, the Brits knew that back in 1922 when they decided that they'd have to carve a second state out of the Jewish Homeland for the Arabs. And called upon a Saudi Arab named Abdullah to reign over Transjordan, carved out of 80% of the Jewish Homeland. Abdullah didn't trust the local Arabs, now known as palestinians. For good reason, they murdered him on the Temple Mount in 1951.
