Minnesota Repubican Rep. Michele Bachmann may find herself in hot water for information she provided during Tuesday evening’s national security-focused Republican primary debate.
Discussing the security threat posed to the United States by Pakistan, Bachmann said, “We have to recognize that 15 of the sites, nuclear sites are available or are potentially penetrable by jihadists. Six attempts have already been made on nuclear sites.”
“This is more than an existential threat,” she said. ”We have to take this very seriously.”
According to Yochi Dreazen of the National Journal, Bachmann, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, may have leaked classified information.
“Her comments on Pakistan’s nuclear program represent either a news-making leak of previously unknown classified information or another in her recent series of seemingly-random, and highly inaccurate, public comments,” Dreazen wrote. Dreazen doesn’t have a clearance and doesn’t know what is classified and what is not.
He’s speculating.
This story has already been debunked by The Blaze. the info she “revealed” was already published in Jane’s Defense Weekly, one of the most widely-read periodicals about military matters.

I didn’t get to watch the whole debate, but what I saw was pretty interesting.
Bachmann should go back to being a congresswoman. She is pretty good at that.

I made the same comment to my wife as we were watching the debate last night.
She commented on the number of Pakistani facilities where nuclear weapon materials are stored, those considered vulnerable and the number that had already been attacked. This isn’t something you typically run across on Drudge so it could be that she has made a major security boo boo.

10-4, Roger that. Where is all of the indignation about Patrick Leahy being kicked off the Senate Intelligence Committee for blabbing actual classified information?
I think that you are spot on about this. I have come to the conclusion that the reason we have so many republican debates is to generate more potential gaffes for the MSM to pounce on. Someone help me out. Did Obama/Clinton/Edwards have this many debates in 2008? Certainly not many were hosted by FOX.
