They should. How can we make the argument that abortion is murder, but not treat both the performing doctor and the abortionist would be mother as murderers?
I agree.
IF you believe abortion is murder, then anyone who is part of this, the woman, the man who paid for it, etc should also be penalized. I say this only because it is hypocritical to only prosecute the doctor or assistants. You are then still giving the message that the only one who is participating in the abortion is the doctor.
This hypocrisy allows the pro life movement that wants abortion illegal to avoid the reality of everyone who makes the decision to abort the child. Of course prosecuting all who are involved will never happen and women will seek illegal abortions.
I believe if the pro life movement is to win, then other approaches must be used. For example, giving free sonograms to pregnant women has been shown to be the most effective in reducing abortions.
