NATO helicopters fired on a checkpoint in the country's northwest near the Afghan border.Clearly these were Euro-choppers, otherwise it would have been "US occupation forces in Afghanistan murder seven Pakistani soldiers".
Must have been a wedding ceremony at the checkpoint.
My guess is they went “hot” on either Pakistan Taliban, or Afghan Taliban in retreat through that border point, where there has been Taliban trouble before, and they were not going to countenance giving those bastards sanctuary in Salala across the border in “ally” Pakistan. It looks like they “got some”. Let’s see what Islamabad says now. Also I would monitor what comes out of India as a nearby observer. They usually know the score on two-faced Pakistan.
Pakistani army posts routinely open fire on US and Coalition forces, to cover terrorists coming in from the Pak side to Afghan. Its common knowledge that Pakistan is training, supporting and funding terror in Afghanistan, so that they will have a grip there again once US forces leave. After all, they did set up the Taleban in the first place.
In such circumstances, its hardly surprising that coalition forces blew up this checkpost.
Now the link says: “Pakistan state TV says the death toll from an alleged NATO helicopter attack on a Pakistani army checkpoint near the Afghan border has risen to 25 soldiers.
State TV reported the death toll Saturday.
The Pakistan military has blamed NATO helicopters for the attack on the checkpoint in the Mohmand tribal area late Friday night.”
Pak TV showing the place blown to bits, lots of smoke coming up. Those helo attack craft were not fooling around. I am sure it was good, actionable intelligence, with ISI helping all along (the Bad Guys). Just like chasing the NVA and Viet Cong into Cambodia in the old days. You can run but ya cant hide!!
In apparent response to the attack, lorries and fuel tankers were being stopped at Jamrud town in the Khyber tribal region near the city of Peshawar, officials and local media said - part of a key supply route which delivers 80% of Nato’s equipment to Afghanistan.
“We have halted the supplies and some 40 tankers and trucks have been returned from the check post in Jamrud,” Mutahir Zeb, a senior government official, told Reuters.
BBC is reporting 26 killed - Press TV reports 28.

they just announced 25 troops dead
the number is up to 25 now, might want to change the headline
Is Obama available for comment?
Pissing off Pakistan is not a good idea. Now it will be harder to operate inside Afghanistan.
“Pissing off Pakistan is not a good idea. Now it will be harder to operate inside Afghanistan.”
Win-win for the Fraud in Chief.
What's the point of operating in Afghanistan, if the real enemy is operating from sanctuary in Pakistan?
You're right. We should green-light India taking down Pakistan.
Cutting off the supply routes has been expected. We have been trying to return to using Uzbek airfields. The word being used the last few months around Langley and the Pentagon has been “ Dunkirk”.
Osama is dead. Why are we still fighting in Afghanistan after 10 years and Trillions of dollars? If terrorism is such a huge threat why is our Southern border wide open? Battalions of scary Muslim terrorists could march in from Mexico and be transported throughout the US undetected using the coyote pipelines. Aside from that illegal aliens have killed more Americans than scary Muslim terrorists ever have. Hell, honey bee stings kill more Americans a year than scary Muslim terrorists do.
As far as I see it mission accomplished, but it could have been done a lot more efficiently.
Beware the military industrial complex.
I like Ike!
