The Tennessee Tea Party is speaking out about Representative Frank tonight and their view is sparking some controversy. After hearing he's retiring, the Tennessee Tea Party tweeted "Good riddance, you perverted sodomite POS!!!"
"I am appalled," says the Tea Party Nation's Judson Phillips. "This statement does nothing to advance the goals of the Tea Party movement and goes a long way towards offending people we need to be involved. Barney Frank is the worst congressman in the last century, but dumb comments like that tweet do not help our cause."
A spokesperson with the Tennessee Tea Party told FOX17 NEWS via phone tonight "If people think we've gone too far, it's Barney Frank that's gone too far."
The Tennessee Equality Project released a statement tonight, saying "The Tennessee Equality Project condemns the comments made by the Tennessee Tea Party about Congressman Barney Frank. Name-calling and bigotry have no place in our public debates. Americans can disagree without denying one another's humanity. Attacking an accomplished public official based on sexual orientation or gender identity shows the need for an open discussion about discrimination. If adults don't set a good example, we can't expect to address issues like bullying in our schools or discrimination on the job. TEP is ready to have an adult discussion with the people of Tennessee."
In 1987, Frank became the first congressman to voluntarily admit he is a homosexual.
TEP should move to Assachusetts. They’d be much happier there...
I do. A "good riddance" of Barney would have him locked up on convicition for corruption and malfeasance in his involvement in Fannie Mae. Letting him take his pension and retirement benefits and go quietly amid the accolades of liberal journalists sucks.

I agree, a more temperate tone will work to our advantage. There’s no point in referring to the lying, rump-wrangling, drug dealing idiotic communist POS in negative term. Wouldn’t be prudent.
Is this Judson Phillips a real Tea Partier or is he a plant?
I am a TPN Member and Phillips has never called for “humane” immigration policy. He has always said SB1070 doesn’t go far enough. Where are you getting your facts or are you just making them up?
Sounds quite accurate to me. They showed restraint in their comment.
