Why Mitt Romney needs Herman Cain
washingtonpost.com ^ | November 29, 2011 | Cillizza and Blake

The latest allegation swirling around businessman Herman Cain — that he conducted a 13-year long extramarital affair with a woman named Ginger White — could well amount to a political death blow for his already-reeling presidential campaign. And that’s bad news for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

...Romney’s best (only?) path to the nomination is if conservatives, who seem to have decided they won’t be with him, fracture among several candidates rather than unify behind a single one.

That reality is true on the national level but equally true in early voting states like Iowa and South Carolina where Romney seems to have a solid 15 to 25 percent but hasn’t moved much beyond that number.

Get use to it folks Obama will win in 2012

Baloney!

The Cain Train is moving along very nicely, in spite of the press and others trying their best to stop it!

For that matter, I’m not sure mittens can beat Gov. Perry.

I would personally rather have an honest, open marxist in the white house than a lying, flip flipping RINO cult member. Really. I won't vote for Obama, but if Romney is the candidate, I'll write in a true conservative to vote for.

Romney is not the lesser of two evils, HE IS THE BENEDICT ARNOLD OF 2012 !

The ineligible RINO Romney:
"YOU, as the others, will bow down and serve me."

Believe the article implies that Romney needs Cain in the primary race to split conservatives - NOT as a VP running mate.

???????????????????????????????

Quite true.

I like Cain, but I hear he may be stepping aside.

I hope this is not the case

Hmm well ok, but the fix is in if Cain steps aside

You will have two establishment candidates Gingrich and Romney. I'm sure the Beltway Boys are happy.

The media and press have a lot more crap on these two guys than they ever did on Cain

Yes Gingrich could win a debate with Obama, but is unelectable. Gingrich does not appeal to independents.

What you state is nonsense. The actions of POTUS do matter. They can destroy or build up this country, whether he believe it or not. No way would I vote for an open and dedicated anti-life, pro amnesty Marxist. I would much rather have for POTUS somebody who will not push for amnesty even though in his heart he adores illegal aliens.

As for flipping, it depends in what direction. It is fine with me, if it is toward a conservative position.

Why is Romney ineligible? I despise the man, but he was born in the US, he is older than 35, has been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years and both his parents were US citizens at the time of his birth.

The CAIN train is still rolling. Apparently the latest dolly doo was a friend of the family. Some friend she was.

This is the media and the hidden hand of Obama trying to bump Cain out of the race. If he survives this he will be bulletproof. I have sent an e-mail to his campaign urging them to stay and fight. Show me what you are made of Cain. Stand and fight!

Perhaps you should delineate where exactly Romney would differ from Obama ?

If the GOP elites want to leave conservatism and foist Romney upon the nation, then they left conservatism. I'm a conservative and won;t vote for Romney regardless of the level of corruption of the GOP.

I didn't vote for Bill Cinton then and I won't vote for Mitt Romney now, FOR THE EXACT SAME REASONS...Including dodging the draft.

From a Cain Volunteer:

I was on a conference call at 11:15am this morning with Herman Cain himself, where he explained to us that, once again, the accusations against him are COMPLETELY FALSE. He ALSO explained that he is NOT considering dropping out of the campaign, despite what the media is reporting. The campaign is moving forward as planned. Additionally, he shared that Ginger White WAS a friend of his (and his wife...’s) and she was a struggling unemployed single mom who received several eviction notices due to being unable to pay her rent. So being the good man that he is, Mr. Cain helped her out financially as a FRIEND, as he has done for other friends in the past. This is what you get for being a good person in this country. Isn’t that freakin’ great!?

Ginger White’s track record - she filed for bankruptcy, has had several eviction notices with the most recent one being this past month, she’s had lawsuits against her for stalking and for LIBEL, she accused a past employer of sexual harassment which was settled out of court, her EX stated he wouldn’t put it past her to make false accusations against anyone for money, her lawyer is a left-wing Democrat and an Obama supporter who has donated over 4k to his campaign, etc.

Does none of this matter to anyone!?

I personally have ZERO respect for ANYONE so narrow-minded that they’ll give ANY amount of consideration or credibility to ANY of these UNFOUNDED accusations. How can people be so easily led and influenced by the media?? Whatever happened to INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY? Do we not have minds of our own??

Honestly? All this does is make me support even more.

And is it just me?? Or does it seem absolutely INSANE that anyone would run for POTUS if they knew they had something THIS HUGE to hide!? I’d like to believe Cain is much smarter than that.

Instead of allowing this UNPROVEN crap to influence our support of Mr. Cain, maybe we should fight it with everything in our being with articles like the one below, which of course is not getting nearly the media attention as all the false accusations.

kidd, you know what? I don’t blame the democrats or the media for this last crazy bimbo. I blame the RINOs and the republican party as a whole for not backing Cain up against this crap. They’ve made it very clear they are complacent and gleeful to see a conservative candidate like Cain savaged in the media until he may be forced to drop out by virtue of destroying his family. All the RINO garbage out there at the very least should defend a fellow republican. They can’t even do that!

Any candidate that gets the endorsement of the RINO establishment should be boycotted to send a message to these pigs.

Exactly. The latest little tart loser was a friend of Mr.. and Mrs Cain and he helped her with her rent when she was a single unemployed mother.

People need to quit buying into these Clarence Thomas smear tactics.
