What was the purpose of this disclosure by this woman at this time?
She did not want to disclose it, but she did.
She says that there was nothing illegal but she disclosed it anyway.
She did not want to do it for political reasons, but she disclosed it at the most political time possible.
She claims she was hurt by his response, but she didn’t need to make her statements.
Why would someone disclose something with no up-side, and then complain that Cain responded?
I think this woman was not paid extortion money, so it became necessary to try to slander Cain. That is the only scenario for voluntarily disclosing something she claimed she did not want to disclose.
That is your first point.
And the answer is: She was apprised that someone who knew of the alleged affair was going to the press about it. She decided, if it were going to hit the air, it would be prudent to get out in front of it and disclose it herself.
That makes the rest of your points mute - especially your last assertion: "That is the only scenario for voluntarily disclosing something she claimed she did not want to disclose.
So there IS another possible 'scenario for...disclosing." after all.
I agree with you. My first impression was that the negotiations for monetary compensation to keep quiet broke down and that is when she went public. IF the story is true. I’m not so sure that it is. I don’t know. She doesn’t seem to have much proof that this relationship occurred.
It’s either a) she’s lying and was paid to do this by either the opposition or the dems or b) she is telling the truth and blackmailing Cain and he told her no more “financial help” would be forthcoming. She may have gotten too greedy.
She did not contact him in advance to advise him that she was being hounded by the media and that she was going to talk to them. She utterly blindsided him... giving the media his cell phone number, which they texted, and he called back.... walking right into the trap.
Some “friend” huh?
