Force is being used to attempt to halt Irans nuclear weapons program. On Monday, an explosion rocked the city of Isfahan in western Iran, site of a conversion facility that prepares uranium for enrichment at other sites. Conflicting reports attributed the explosion to either an accident at a gas station or a military training incident, or they denied it even happened.
The blast came two weeks after Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Gen. Hasan Tehrani Moghaddam and 20 other IRGC members were killed in a massive explosion at a base near the village of Bidganeh, southwest of Tehran. The base was a test site for Irans ballistic missile program. Official sources said the blast was the result of an accident while munitions were being moved, but the generals brother, Mohammad Tehrani Moghaddam, said it happened during a missile test. It was related to an intercontinental ballistic missile, he was quoted in the Iranian official press, It was a completely high-tech, confidential process. These comments were later scrubbed from the website where they first appeared.
The two explosions join a growing list of unusual and deadly events related to Irans secret weapons programs. In late June 2011, five Russian nuclear scientists who had been assisting Irans nuclear program died in a plane crash outside the northern Russian city of Petrozavodsk. 1 = happenstance, 2 = coincidence, 3 = etc etc.
priceless. I don't want to know anything except maybe when everything that sticks its rear in the air and bows to mecca is dead.
The world would just be a better place if that happened.
Great way to handle this. Much better than having a huge invasion costing billions and many lives. Go Israel and/or other intelligence services!!
“Very professional, it must be Israels doing.”
:)
BTTT!
Possibly, but internal power struggle is also possible. Military and intelligence chiefs may want to get rid of competitors. Money and power may be motive.
Also, iran is 3rd world country and army research is risky. Accidents fo happen in poor countries.
STUXNET II.
You’re correct, it is very possible. There are a number of anti-regime grps in Iran (both Iranian & foreign) who may cooperate when necessary.
Iranian authorities probably suspect the same - so, I think the recent reported capture of spies in Iran & Lebanon is related to this & recent events. They were mostly Lebanese & Iranians, not foreign nationals. In the past for example, an Iranian opposition grp tried to assassinate present supreme leader Khamenei. It wasn’t successful, but Khamenei lost the use of his right arm after a bomb hidden inside a tape recorder detonated while he was giving a news conference..

Agree, if US had anything to do with it Obozo would have to crow and beat his chest about it.

Perhaps Israel should pre-emptively strike Russia instead of Iran?
