An 85-year-old Long Island grandmother says she plans to sue the TSA after a humiliating strip search on Tuesday by agents at JFK Airport.
Lenore Zimmerman, who lives in Long Beach, says she was on her way to a 1 p.m. flight to Fort Lauderdale when security whisked her to a private room and took off her clothes.
I walk with a walker I really look like a terrorist, she said sarcastically. Im tiny. I weigh 110 pounds, 107 without clothes, and I was strip-searched.
TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said a review of closed circuit TV footage from the airport shows proper procedures were followed.

TSA needs a good laxative. Clean them out.
Pic of the grandmother and her injury.
MAY? She should sue the agency and the people involved personally.
The effin country has gone insane.
You’d be amazed at how many nations seem more free to travel around these days... sadly Vietnam comes to mind and we lost many Americans there to keep that nation from turning into what we have now become.

If she can find a lawyer. I will lay odds that it will never make it past the petition stage. She has to lay out a prima fascie case that some sort of right was violated. Since she wasn’t assaulted and she’s not part of a protected class (and even then most of those lawsuits have gone nowhere).
She may have been embarrassed but no actual harm was done and she probably can’t prove she was anything other than a person selected for cause for deep screening — no worse than if she was, at her age, traveling one-way which is 100% guaranteed extra-extra screening.
Her burden is EXTREMELY heavy/high.
I am not saying the TSA is right (they aren’t) but I am just reading the tea leaves based on cases to date and TSA’s broad mandate.
I travel for a living so keep a pretty close eye on all these TSA events.
I keep saying we should adopt El Al’s security procedure book lock stock and barrel.
I am part of the new “Trusted Traveler” pilot but it is only a little help — I don’t have to take off my shoes nor remove my laptop from the bag. But every little bit helps and that line is REALLY short for now.
We need a modern age Reagan to fire all the MoFo’s. This republic needs an enema!
We can’t profile, but just so nobody thinks we’re being unfair, we strip-search and occasional great granny for good measure? What a joke.
TSA needs to be undone. abolished.
Time to get these degenerates under control, and that starts by slapping those responsible from the top down.
I expect war on the TSA to be front and center of this campaign.
I’m going to take a wild guess that Gloria Allred is not representing her.
THe hell of it is - who’s going to take the TSA on?
If a future President were to force them to back down and a terror attack occurred, you know who would get the blame. Very few politicians are going to be willing to take that risk. So we surrender our personal liberty...
Can't make this crap up....
"Smart" may not be possible. Going against ANY Federal Union is always a political problem. Naming one member could put a candidate in deep legal water.
But it would be great to see.
Except for the gouge on her leg, but that's her fault.
BTW, If I take a swing at you AND MISS that's assault.
If you do not want me to touch you and I pat you, that's battery.
What would you call it if I took you into a private room and stripped you?
You sound rather knowledgeable in this area... if I were to ‘get in line’ and at the last second decide to forfeit my travel plans, could I refuse the strip search and just leave or would the jackboot thugs say ‘too late Jew’? I’ve heard anectodatal reports that once in line you can’t get out without serious legal implications. It really smacks of Naziasm if so. Where the hell did my country go?
Re: your tagline, after 85 million years, I shouldn’t wonder...
