I’m sorry if my last post came off as rude, but conspiracy theory nonsense bores me to tears.

9/11 happened because a bunch of Islamo-Nazis flew planes into buildings. End of story. Could it have been prevented ? Maybe, if the Bill Caligula regime hadn’t made a mess of things before Bush came along.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to blame Bush for, (Medicaid Part D, NCLB, the bailouts) but causing 9/11 is not one of them, nor is being happy about it as RuPaul suggests.

I'm not saying Bush caused 9/11, far from it. I agree the persons who commit the crime are the ones responsible. Bush failed to recognize that existing agencies were hobbled in their mission by Clinton era pronouncements and failed to address those problems.

I think the blame for those and other failures goes directly to those who failed to note the Islamic connection with the first WTC bombing, OK City bombing (John Does and the Nichols connection to Abu Sayef in the Phillipines), the Flight 800 and possibly other plane 'crashes', the embassy bombings in Africa and the Khobar Towers bombing.

There was a general escalation in the severity of events, finally capped by 9/11--an undeniable terrorist attack that couldn't be simply printed below the fold or in the back of the A section of the paper, and one which could not be glossed over.

Perhaps if the onus hadn't been to promote the 'homegrown hayseed terrorist' meme in order to advance Gun Control Agendae, (similar to the current mess involving 'border violence' and similar attempts to further infringe on the RKBA with gunwalker), the dots would have been more generally connected.

Once, however, the Clintons had set the theme, no one was in a hurry to make the point that foreign terrorists had been operating here for far too long, especially not agency hacks who would suffer, career-wise, for the diversion of efforts.

Sometimes there is a generalized conspiracy (note lowercase 'c'). It doesn't start out that way, it becomes defined as policy, institutionalized, and once sucked in, few will change their position until all are forced to do so.

Of course, paybacks for Gulf War I may have been on the mind of those who wanted to build their status in the Islamic world, and who better to dump them on than GHW Bush's son?
