Jon Corzine, the former CEO of the bankrupt brokerage firm MF Global, has testified before Congress about his role in the company losing nearly a billion dollars.

His responses were tentative, claiming ignorance of events. This prompted committee member, Rep. David Scott, D-Ga., to remark that it was the "height of disbelief" for Corzine ....

My guess is the firm lost a half a billion then tried to double up and catch up using customer’s accounts on another risky bet and oops lost that one too.

The reason that Corzine was speeding in that crash was that he was rushing to get back for his meeting with Rutgers Women's Basketball Team, you know, the "nappy-headed ho's" of Imus fame.

Yes, I do. Of course it now has other connotations. When I was a kid you’d get your face slapped if you used that word.

Corzine was in the back seat having a “GOOD TIME” with his Mistress when the accident happened! There is no question about that fact!

It’s too bad that neither of those statements make any sense. (Literally, that is.)

Indeed, but they are made-to-order media sound bites. :-(

I agree. Trust, once lost is very difficult to earn again.

That is why “fast and loose” spendaholics like Obama are so very dangerous to the goodwill and trust that the citizens have in their Government.

By the laziness of the US Representatives and Senators, they have given up writing LAWS and allowed punk, ivy-leaguer Marxists write REGULATIONS which have the same cruel teeth as Federal LAWS.

Thus, Congress has degenerated into three gangs in suits: the dems, the RINOS, and the Black “Caucuses” who spend their time waiting to robo-vote on any bill that the Dictator in the White House happens to send their way.

We citizens do not choose to have our portion of the National Debt increased. This is a violation of our Freedom of Choice, as guaranteed in the US Constitution.

What Democrat Corzine and Democrat Obama did is the same: loosing our money, passing their mistakes on to us in the form of debt that WE owe, and then loosing track of the money that was lost. One goes to jail and the other gets an extension to violate our freedom of choice for another 4 years.

I say jail Corzine, and IMPEACH Obama!

Then, You certainly used the right word, altough I will argue You demeaned the male sexual organ in labeling this dirtbag that honorable term. I dare You to call Corzine a “Vagina!”

The priority of prosecutions in the USA is way axx backwards. We need to prosecute starting at the top instead of the bottom of the food chain.

Why are we spending mucho public dollars incarcerating non-violent, supposedly victimless criminals and while letting these political elite go free? I’m all for a policy that establishes CAPITAL punishment for those that steal / scam over say 10 million dollars from society, and as a result create many victims. Madoff and Ken Lay and many scammers of charitable orgs. come to mind?

If one steals that much they need to face capital punishment even if they wear a tie to the office and schmoooze with important people, regardless of Party. These thieves are very calculating and smart and that risk alone would end it.

Corzine and others need to face the music. But instead the lawyers will say we can’t prove it. BS! They consider him one of them.

Wow! That's a lot! Compared to the trillions Congress has lost or stolen out of the economy since 2006, I'm just appalled!

Corzine knows exactly what happened with the money. Right now he feels pleading ignorance is a better strategy, propably because if he flat out said what happened, he would likely be dead. (and not by the hand of his customers, but by his fellow criminal bankers. This one is big, and when people start to understand, it will collapse Wall Street)

My strong belief is that these scams (and we’ve had 4 years of them) are far bigger and much dirtier and more anti-USA that we can even imagine.

Our once powerful and great USA economy was about creating and making real stuff that benefited the world. Now it has become a cabal about a relatively few bankers on Wall Street such as GS who make deals that benefit only their own. While they make trillions for their own, our economy goes deep into debt.

The more the financial crisis goes on, the more I consider the Bond movie Casino Royale to be a great Wall Street movie. In it, the villian invests another villian's money and loses it in a failed bomb plot, then has to try to get the money back in a high stakes poker game.

Le Chiffre's plan

and the result

Yes Casino Royale is a great analogy.

I gave up on the casino of wall street (except for some gambling money which is exactly what it is) some years ago and now have mostly tangible hard assets. Yes some are even guaranteed by the USA govt and are producing income and have worth, and they also offer a good night’s sleep, which is more than the pieces of worthless paper and promises provided by the cabal of greedy NYC Wall St thieves.

What they claim to have of the investor is nothing but a piece of paper, just like Madoff’s clients. Until the thieves are held fully accountable and more than a back yard prankster expect it all to continue. They need blindfolded in front of a firing squad or strapped on a capital punishment gurney. Then they will learn. Until then it will be investor fools.
