Im not sure why ex-Senator and current Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee keeps getting elected, but Im quite sure he offends me. I truly cant stand seeing his face, and you dont have to ask why. You see, thats the way offensiveness is: Its completely subjective and not constrained by rhyme or reason.
Along with a lot of other people, however, I now certainly have one very logical reason to chafe at Chafee: His decision to call the 17-foot-tall blue spruce Christmas tree in his state capitols rotunda a holiday tree despite opposition from residents and lawmakers. This, mind you, is something even the Obama administration doesnt dare; all its trees are called what they are.
...As for me, Id like to resurrect tradition, so Ill point out that holiday is actually a contraction of Holy Day. And guess what? We can and we should now thank ol Lincoln for the Christmas present of the beautiful capitol rotunda Holy Day tree.
Seriously.

“..and a Merry Christmas, everyone!”

Keep in mind also, Christmas comes from “CHRIST MASS” which means a celebration of Christ.
Watch this video....it says a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln01p1M2cH0
Because the people of RI are stupid.
Had someone pull this on my last night.
Friend “wanna watch some holiday movies?”
Me “What holiday movies. It’s Christmas baby. Don’t let the kommies take the Christ out of Christmas”.
Friend “Like Jewish holiday, Kwaanza...Christmas movies”.
Me “Lamo, I have no childhood memories of Jewish or Arab “Hahleeday” movies and the mail stops running on Christmas”
Ended up watching The Good Wife and NCIS Miami. Dang Eva La Rue and Julianna Margulies are smoking hot!
Dear Governor Chapstick*—
Some of us are offended by the name of a mid-January holiday: Martin Luther King Jr Day. The man was—gasp!—a registered
Republican. We urge you to change the name of it to
Civil Rights Day. We also are writing to Providence radio
stations to demand they stop playing “Pride (In the Name of Love)” by U2 as it talks about King.
*—Skiier Suzy Chaffee—presumably no relation, note the spelling difference—became known as “Suzy Chapstick” after
doing lip balm commercials.
At least they are smarter then to vote for a Dem.
