Eurocrats spew at Britain for their independence and for not bailing out the Euro. They hate Britain for their economic freedom & independence. Meanwhile, we are bailing out the Euro.

That’s different. From 1940 anyway.

...splendid isolation.

Yes. And I love Hannan. He's a brilliant verbal surgeon for these bloated Eurocarts, and such an eloquent speaker for freedom and independence for Britain. Makes me wish that he were an American.

I agree. If Hannan were an American, he could run for President and, most likely, get elected in a landslide election. He is the type of person we need in the Oval Office of this country. The closest we have running now is Newt Gingrich but people are afraid of him. He may be too tough, but tough is what we need now.....not later.

Any independent nation (people) that gives away its decision making to a layer of government above it's own, deserves what it gets. And it will in time get it, in spades.

When I think of Europe these days, it's name seems quite fitting.

If you think of it, "Europe" sounds a bit like a burp.

"Eeuuurrrop!" Excuse me! Hell, excuse them...

There’s a better reason to walk away…To preserve your democracy, to secure your independence, to keep fast the freedoms you inherited from your parents and to pass them on intact to your children.....

Excellent. Same reason the US should not be involved in any euro bailout

Hannan hasn't officially endorsed any candidate in this election, but he did state his choice after the last election. His choice was Ron Paul

Hannan also came to the US in 2009 specifically to speak to RP's Campaign for Liberty.

It's interesting that Hannan is enough of a political celeb outside of Britain to make it to all the US morning talk shows when he was here. We hear him, understand and love him. But in Britain, he scares people a bit -- a lot like Ron Paul does here.

Thanks for that, you saved me the time in pointing out that Newt is no Hannan.

That second link on my post has a great video speech by Hannan on the differences between the Euro Constitution and the US Constitution -- reminding us and inspiring us as to who we are as Americans, what we came from, and what a great legacy we have to preserve for future generations.

My father came from Europe to the US and all the days of his life, he loved America and sniffed at the very idea that I might want to ever imitate or be like Europeans, let alone wish to be transferred there for a job. To him, Europe was great for a vacation or to see family, but he never understood anyone thinking that there was something politically European that should be imitated by the US. He saw Europe as politically regressive, not progressive -- always attempting to consolidate power and money into the hands of the few. It wasn't until I got older that I fully understood what he meant.
