The Obama administration has decided to eliminate a 1998 restriction on the sale of guns to foreigners, claiming federal law does not allow the government to have different gun-control rules for noncitizens.
In a letter to firearms dealers, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said it would no longer require sellers to obtain proof from foreign buyers that they have lived in the state for 90 days. The rule was originally instituted after a disturbed Palestinian, 69-year-old Ali Abu Kamal, admitted to the United States on a legal nonimmigrant visa, bought a 380-caliber Beretta semiautomatic handgun in Florida and, on the observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City, shot to death one person and injured six others.
“The Department of Justice … has recently concluded that, as a matter of law, applying a more stringent State residency requirement for aliens legally present in the U.S. than for U.S. citizens is incompatible with the language of the [Gun Control Act],” the ATF letter reads.
Some gun-control advocates criticized the change. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-New Jersey) said that eliminating the regulation defied “common sense and puts Americans at risk” because it could make it easier for foreign terrorists to obtain weapons inside the country. -Noel Brinkerhoff

Does anybody else here NOT believe that this man is a Muslim who is hell-bent on keeping arms from its natural born citizens and giving arms to his Muslim brothers from abroad? How much more proof could anyone need? This man has been to a Christian church, what - twice in three years while in office?...his presence is a godammed shame and a black mark on the history of this country. He is so open, so blatant about his actions, he might as well be saying the Islamic equivalent of “All your base are belong to us!”......dammit...just dammit.

I actually agree with them on this. It is legal for legal residents to keep and bear arms. This is a good thing for the 2nd amendment. Maybe the .gov needs to be responsible on whom it lets come here legally.
Make it retroactive so “Fast and Furious” is covered.

Just because he has been inside a church does not mean he has heard a sermon or the words of Jesus Christ. For all we know, he had a potluck at the altar or watched a movie.
And BTW, does Congress have a say about this?
She didn’t imply she agreed with guns for NOT legals....specifically, she said “legal” residents. While I still disagree with her on the finer points of that (for example, it is possible for Muslim sympathizers - legal through benefit of long residency - to obtain guns that could be used against us.
Secondly, perfunctorily asking the government to do their damned job at keeping illegals out isn’t a drunkard’s plaint. It may be pointless, but it isn’t a fool’s question.
Lastly, she isn’t a troll, I believe, but just has a different opinion.
The day will come when prior to the final breakdown, this country’s laws will be ROUTINELY ignored, openly.
