Obama signed the bill in Hawaii where he is on vacation, at a time of rising tension with Tehran, which has threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz -- through which more than a third of the world's tanker-borne oil passes. The United States has warned it will "not tolerate" such an interruption.

Bummer probably wants a war, though it's hard to see how one could have been avoided even with Juan McCain at the helm and Sarah Palin as the heiress apparent. It will give Mitt Romney a chance to look all hawky in his dove feathers. Thank you jimmuh /s

What is of importance to me is that the recent saber rattling was meant to be intimidating. Given that the sanction was embedded in a defense appropriation, I would not think it could be vetoed.

But Iran rattled sabers to make the world rattle the Messiah.

What that means is that Iran keeps a close eye on our government and can find the sanction buried in a massive bill
