Also under the Romney bus:

"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced
,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."
- Boston Globe 7/25/2005

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys.
He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."
- U.S. Senate testimony by Gov. Mitt Romney, 6/22/2004 P>

"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!

Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.
- Boston Globe 11/2/2006

“The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday.
The cause of death: failed leadership.

The party is survived by a few leftover legislators
and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists
who have been ignored for years.
Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow.
In lieu of flowers, send messages to Republican voters
warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney.”
- Boston Herald, 11/12/2006

"In 2006, while Romney was chairman of the National Republican
Governors Association - a group dedicated to electing more
Republican governors - his own hand-picked Republican successor
as governor lost badly to the Democrat, despite the fact that Republicans
have held the governorship in Massachusetts since 1990. Romney largely
ignored the Massachusetts elections and spent most of the time
during the campaign out of state building his presidential campaign.
He came back and publicly campaigned for the Republican candidate
the day before the general election!
“Locally, this is a rebuke to Mitt Romney and checking out within six months
after being elected and having accomplished almost nothing,”

[Jim] Rappaport [former chairman of the state Republican Party]."
- Boston Globe, 11/8/2006

This is a conservative website. It is anti-liberal,so instead of simply being anti-Romney, there are a number of ideas, people, actions etc that this site does not support. I lump Romney right in with Obama.

Amen, but Romney sinks lower as a turd because he's got OUR "brand" on his hat.

He was gonna lose it anyway, but the moron Willard just gave the Florida Primary to Newt Gingrich. Mr. Please, please, please, like me Romney will say and do anything to try and get a vote. This latest lie will backfire. Newt sues up the nomination after the Florida win.

Romney was busted in December 2006 for his 10 year usage of illegal Guatemalans, in December 2007 the idiot was busted again for the same thing, 2 days after after lying in the debates that he had never been running a “Sanctuary Mansion”.

Romney had never really fired the company, he just let things die down and kept them on.

_________________________________________________________

Romney is a RINO, a flip flopping RINO, that does not make it right to distort the facts. I had a roof put on my house, one of the guys was a Latino, I didn't check his ID, I didn't think it was my job.

RINO Romney had a company cut his lawn, he probably never touched a lawnmower in his life.
The company had hired an illegal. RINO Romney found out about it when the newspaper brought it to his attention. RINO Romney never said he fired the company he said he “threatened” to fire them if they didn't get rid of their illegals. They got rid of them but not for long.

Rick Perry got booed when he tried this during one of the debates because the whole world knows the story. It isn't our job to check who the companies that work for us hire. It should be the companies job to do that, I will be glad when congress puts teeth into a law that prevents people from hiring illegals.

You are the one distorting the facts.

Romney employed that same guy and his illegals for a decade, including during his time as Governor, Romney knew those illegals and addressed them in their Spanish language, one of the illegal Guatemalans, (most of the illegals were Guatemalan), had worked at their house for 8 years, they also got other work from Mitt’s recommendations, Romney endured a big scandal when the Globe busted him.

A year later (making it 11 years), after Romney lied in the debates when Giuliani called him on his “Sanctuary Mansion”, the Globe thought to send a reporter over there and found that Romney had never fired the landscaper and that the guy was still using Spanish speaking Guatemalan illegals.

Romney had every reason to think those were illegals, and as Governor with state security personnel, he sure could have checked on the regular workers at his personal residence, instead he did nothing, even after the scandal broke in 2006.

“Standing on stage at a Republican debate on the Gulf Coast of Florida last week, Mitt Romney repeatedly lashed out at rival Rudy Giuliani for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants in New York City.

Yet, the next morning, on Thursday, at least two illegal immigrants stepped out of a hulking maroon pickup truck in the driveway of Romney’s Belmont house, then proceeded to spend several hours raking leaves, clearing debris from Romney’s tennis court, and loading the refuse onto the truck.

In fact, their work was part of a regular pattern. Even after a Globe story in December 2006 highlighted Romney’s use of a landscaping company that employs illegal immigrants to tend to his grounds, Romney continued to employ Community Lawn Service With a Heart - until yesterday. The company continued to employ illegal immigrants.

The two workers confirmed in separate interviews with Globe reporters last week that they were in the country without documents. One said he had paid $7,000 to a smuggler to escort him across the desert into Arizona; the other said he had come into the country with a student visa that has expired. Both were seen working on the lawn by either Globe reporters or photographers over the last two months.”
(snip)
“”After this same issue arose last year, I gave the company a second chance with very specific conditions,” Romney said in the statement. “They were instructed to make sure people working for the company were of legal status. We personally met with the company in order to inform them about the importance of this matter. The owner of the company guaranteed us, in very certain terms, that the company would be in total compliance with the law going forward.

“The company’s failure to comply with the law is disappointing and inexcusable, and I believe it is important I take this action,” Romney said.

Romney’s account differs from that of landscape company owner Ricardo Saenz, who said that Romney didn’t press the issue of whether his workers were in the country illegally. Asked if the Romney household expressed reservations about rehiring him after last year’s story, he said, “Why would they have any problem?”

Think again.

Yes, the GREATER evil, because if Obama won, because his support is built on illusion and fraud, limited government conservatism and the Republican party would grow stronger. There's a very high liklihood that Congress would move solidly right during the midterms. The more tyrannical government became, the more Americans would identify the Democrat party with tyrnannical government -- and the more they would seek its antidote in the Republican party, and Democrats themselves would begin moving to the right. With Obama in office, liberalism would grow WEAKER.

If Romney won, statism and liberalism would become more powerful IN BOTH PARTIES.

If Romney won, there's a very high probablity that Congress would MOVE LEFT.

If Romney won, any efforts by conservatives to stop him would be attacked and the status quo would continue to enable statism and liberalism by feeling it their duty to support the GOP administration.

If Romney won, we'd have nationalized health care with mandates BY AND FROM REPUBLICANS.

If Romney won, we'd have activist liberal judge appointments made BY A REPUBLICAN.

If Romney won, THE REPUBLIAN PARTY would justifiably be perceived as the party of Federal laws mandating abortion be legal in all states with a national health care program that forced taxpayers to finance them and make them cheap.

If Romney won, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY would justifiably be perceived as the party that wants to deprive Americans of their God-given right to peacefully discriminate against, and force them by means of harsh punishment, to EMBRACE, open homosexuality in their kids' schools and youth groups, their military, their workplaces, and their communities.

If Romney won, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY would be the one identified with job- and freedom-killing regulation on energy production and consumption in the name of "saving the planet."

Stop cringing and shivering and start thinking. Understand that Romney would make all those things to become identified WITH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, and he would simultaneously make it so any Republicans and conservatives who wanted to stop them, would effectively have their hands tied behind their backs.

We can fight Obama. Obama is like a wound -- his damage can be healed, and the body made stronger, by a congress that would move increasingly to the right, both DEMOCRAT and REPUBLCAN, if Obama was re-elected. Romney is like a poison administered on a daily basis, severely weakening the GOP and conservatism -- at this point, the only means we have to combat statism, liberalism, and heavier, more oppressive government.

Worst of all, Romney would betray so many Americans voting "against" Obama and by default therefore voting Republican, some of them for the first time, that the Republican party would become PASSIONATELY DESPISED. The Democrat party will not have let them down -- but when the Republican party endorses and grows liberalism and government, AS ROMNEY HAS AND WOULD, it is a betrayal that causes damage to the GOP brand on a magnitude that neither Obama nor any other Democrat could even hope to accomplish.

THINK AGAIN AND THIS TIME, THINK IT THROUGH. Stop letting fear and anger guide your conclusions, and start reading the handwriting on the wall.

Indeed, between Romney and Obama, Romney is the greater evil. ROMNEY NEEDS TO LOSE.

>Stop cringing and shivering and start thinking. <

I am not cringing or shivering .. I am thinking.

And being “identified with a party would be the LEAST of our worries. But your not getting that. Your worried about holding onto a name of a party. A place card. A banner.

Your entire premise is based upon the statement:

“We can fight Obama. Obama is like a wound — his damage can be healed, and the body made stronger, by a congress that would move increasingly to the right, both DEMOCRAT and REPUBLCAN,”

which I completely disagree with. Obama has already stated that he will move without the congress. he will rule by fiat. In case you have not realized it the man just signed an indefinite detention order that can be used against US citizens. He is wielding ungodly powers and the Senate and Congress are full yet of socialists that are cloaking themselves as democrats and many republicans are simply RINOS. Furthermore, many politicians are just that, politicians that were there for a gravy train. They no more want to make any tough decisions than they have to.

Even the most adamant supporters and of the constitution or who appear to be such have made statements that they have too much on their plate and will not take more on. There is NO WAY that they will ever impeach this SOB in office right now. He is getting away with murder. He is doing damage that is far reaching into the future and that is not going to be so fixable in the future in my opinion.

He is running a scorched earth presidency. We can not survive another 4 years of him in control doing what ever he wants unchecked. He must be defeated.

ANYONE BUT OBAMA.

If he wins, I think that he would at least let the states do what they need to do to end illegal immigration. I don’t think that he would pull an Obama and attack Arizona or other states that are trying to protect themselves.
