Xinhua Net forgets that it is Katla that is blamed in substantial part for the climate anomaly of 535 AD through 541 AD that resulted in the Dark Ages ~ which also affected China and killed hundreds of millions of people and wiped out their civilization for the next 300 years.
Or maybe they do know all about it ~

I live half the year on my farm in Northern Ireland.
I left in late November due to the MONSTER, a huge storm that rolled in. Since then the weather has been unbearably cold and I am still in the states. I travel a lot between the US and Europe so this volcanic disturbance will greatly effect my flight itinerary.

Sad that we have to depend on news from “Al Jazeera.”
Something big is brewing under Iceland.

Katla was the expected follow-up to eyjafjallajokull, and potentially could be devasting (in the catastrophic sense, not the cnn sense) for northern europe.

I am crossing Iceland off my vacation list. I’m going to go to Hawaii instead - at least I’ll feel more safe there.
