Former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who lost to Rick Scott in the bitter Republican gubernatorial primary, is helping out his former pal, Newt Gingrich, with whom he served in Congress.
McCollum is scheduled to open Gingrich's Orlando headquarters on Jan. 13,
McCollum's endorsement doesn't mean much (few do, so it's not a knock on McCollum). Consider this story from News 13 in Orlando, which gives McCollum the same billing as former Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty, who's to co-chair the campaign.
McCollum has a good work ethic, an ability to raise money and his knowledge of Florida and its election map are tough to match. McCollum's endorsement and support of Gingrich is a pretty sure sign that few people from Scott world will be on Gingrich's team. Most, like pollster Tony Fabrizio, are already on Texas Gov. Rick Perry's squad anyway.

Praise God. He’s a good man and organizer!
Bill McCollum is the one who took the fight against Obamacare to Obama with the multi-state lawsuit.
“Praise God. Hes a good man and organizer”
I sure hope so. It looks like Newt is going to put up one hell of a fight. GO NEWT! We need you.
God Bless him. He is a good man and he did take the fight to Obama....
Good news. I saw a Romney ad here in Florida tonight and I’m so bummed. How do we counter this Rino machine? Newt needs big help. He needs some big names to come out fighting on his behalf and he needs MONEY!!
He is not well liked in the Sunshine State. Regarded as a professional politician and that is exactly why he lost to Tea Party Favorite Rick Scott.
Scott is doing a great job and loved by many conservatives in God’s Waiting Room State. Wonder what Newt has promised McCulloh - he is in need of gainful employment soon.
One Ringy Dingy..Hello Mr. Beasley! This is Ernestine with the Gingrich campaign here in Florida. What? You are voting for Romney? (Snort) Did you hear he plans to take away your social security? Why yes Mr. Beasley. Now can we count on you for your vote? I thought so! You have a nice day!" (snort)
For the moment, any good news is actually great news.
GO NEWT GO.........
McCollum, Crotty to run Gingrich’s Florida campaign
January 05, 2012|By Scott Powers, Staff Writer
Former Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty and former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum will be co-chairs of GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich’s Florida campaign.
Joining them as co-chair is Alan Levine, former state health care administrator in both Florida and Louisiana.
Crotty, who left office 13 months ago after nine years as Orange County mayor, said he was drawn to Gingrich because he was impressed by the former U.S. House Speaker’s debate performances and because he can win.
LOL.... After todays revelation, that could also fit Santorum. ;>)

The Orange County Republican Executive Committee has announced that it will be holding its annual Lincoln Day Dinner just three days prior to the Florida presidential primary.
The event will be taking place on January 28, 2012 from 5:00-7:45 PM at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando and OCREC Chairman Lew Oliver has confirmed that GOP Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich will be the Lincoln Day Dinner Speaker.
The whole world will be focused on Florida generally, and Central Florida specifically, for the make or break Florida primary that may once again determine our presidential nominee, said Oliver. You dont want to miss all the buzz and excitement!
Gingrich is an outstanding speaker and will likely be in the thick of the fight as one of the top 2 or 3 remaining candidates in the field. You may purchase tickets on the OCREC website at www.OCREC.org. Please print the form and fax or e-mail it back to us as noted on the form.
More distortion from Faux News. Consultants that worked for McCollum’s race went to Scott in the general.
HA!
Yes, he is a good man. His previous campaign efforts are laughable!
( Leni knows!! )
Looking forward to help Newt in Orlando!
That's how I see it but I have not forgotten how Newt came up in the ranks when it looked like all was said and done...when the media isn't hounding him then he's surely using the time and opportunity to line himself up for the next "New-tron Bomb"....he will be playing a hard game as things move along and timing on it all is critical.
This should be interesting once it hits....
