The True committed delegates selected to the 2012 GOP National Nominating Convention.
And in that field, the leading conservative to date as of Tuesday night is none-other than, Senator Rick Santorum.
In fact, what are we to say if in the next 24 hours, the results are revised and he ends up being the certified winner of the Iowa caucuses?
I think vote totals, and delegate totals, should trump all polls. The vote and delegate tolls more truly indicate what the people want, the polls often reflect what the MSM, bandwagoning some candidates and ignorning others, want the people to think. My two cents at least.
At the end of the day, I could "settle" in the General and vote for either Santorum, Gingrich or Perry. I would be a "no show" if either Romney or Paul headed the ticket. It would take 4 bottles of Jack Daniels to vote for Ron Paul and I would be delirious. And it would take 8 bottles of Jack Daniels to vote for Willard Romney, and I would be in toxic shock and comatose by then. ;-) Your mileage might vary, but I respect your post, and FR as always.

Santorum in Iowa was gifted by the $3 million dollar take down of Gingrich by the Romney machine. Rick Perry was already on “implode” going in, and coming out quit following the count. The delegates are uncomitted in Iowa but yes Santorum got a free ride and his 2, or 4 delegates in Iowa, out of roughly, 1500. Now it’s over and at best even with the wind at his back, he’s at 16 in SC. And even THAT couldn’t have factored in the blow back from last night’s debate, where afterwards in the Spin Room even Rick Santorum knew who won the day and had moved the meter. It was not him. It was Newt.
