"provided, of course, the frontrunner decides to take the stage." The campaign is wondering, will he lose more support by debating and losing or by being a no show chicken?
Romney is a loser. If he gets the nomination Obama will eat his lunch.

Romney won't back off the debates. Look at what happened when Perry's folks talked about ducking out on them. At this point, dodging a debate will make you look incredibly weak.
At first I did not like the number of debates, but they are free publicity and they are good practice for taking on Obama.
And let's face it, if we didn't have all of these debates, peoples' images of the candidates would be shaped by Super PAC ads.

I can’t stand how Romney pronounces “Legislator” and “Legislature” as “Ledislator” and “Ledislature”. What is that all about?
I also can’t stand that annoying half-smile that he always has on his face.
I also can’t stand how he is so smug and used to being the boss that he says things like “I’ll answer how I want to answer” and “I’ll take a little more time” on his answers, giving himself permission to go over the allotted time.
I also can’t stand how he gets over 50% of the questions or time to talk.
Come to think of it, there’s nothing I CAN stand about the man.

I strongly strongly urge he decline to do the Florida debates. Especially, if it would be bad for him.

Oh, my, not a good move. Romney can't even take the heat from these republican debates. The same candidate who wants to stand up to Obama for the conservative views. Can you image once Obama brings up his record. There will go that. Can you image the things they are holding back as the October surprise. Our guys have not been rough on Mitt. I wonder how he thinks he can handle Obama. I wonder how he plans to handle a national crisis.

One major mistake yesterday, and maybe another here. I’m sensing a Romney collapse now.
His major mistake yesterday was saying that he would release his tax returns in time for Obama to use them against him, but not in time for Newt and the others to use them against him.
His possible mistake here is, of course, bypassing the debates. If he thinks he can sit on a lead, he might want to talk to Bush-43 regarding his 5 to 10 point lead a week before the 2000 election, and his strategy of his last week of his campaign (which, believe it or not, had a victory lap through Texas the last weekend...that was stopped at the last minute).
What makes the debates tough for Romney now is that Huntsman isn’t there to prop him up and take take some of the questions. Romney’s out on his own and he’s finding the Republican Party not very receptive.

Romney does not have to debate at all. The reason? He has already been anointed by the RINO GOP and the “fix is in” on the selection of our next Republican presidential selectee.
Everyone needs to give their money to his campaign and go home. Nothing more to see here.

Be careful, Mitt. Remember Reagan and Anderson debated with an empty chair in 1980. That was effective.

"There are too many of these," Romney strategist Stuart Stevens said after Monday night's Fox News debate at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. "We have to bring some order to it. We haven't accepted FloridaIf the mittens crew declines one of these debates, the press will pummel him and so will the other candidates.
It would be insane to try and skip one of these debates before Jan 31 in Florida.
The Florida voters would bitch slap him for attending two in SC but then bypassing a Florida debate.
I hope he does skip one, but I don't think he will.

Much the same way Herman Cain had from the beginning
