Wouldn't have happened in my church. There would have been a moment of silence followed by the sound of metal sliding out of leather, velcro ripping, and purses being dropped.

Afterwards, prayers for the departed.

A church whose choir meets on Wednesday is probably a fair sized one. Nobody there wanted to pack heat? Or could?

"Investigators describe the suspect as a black male between 5'10" to 5'11, 230 lbs, wearing a black knit cap, blue jeans, light colored jacket, gray jogging style shoes and armed with a shotgun."

Of course the article doesn't say, but this excerpt from the church's website (stjamesumcgoosecreek.org) "These events are for the whole family and usually follow a theme, such as a Sock Hop, Australia Night, Harvest Hoedown, etc." is pretty good evidence that it is a white congregation.

So it must have been, by the media's PC definition, a random attack.

Now had it been the armed robbery of a black church by a white male, by the same media's PC definition, it would have been a racial attack.

And then Obama would take a page from the Clinton's 1996 reelection and campaigned on Black Churches in the South under attack.

Same with mine. Other than myself I know of at least two deacons and a retired cop would would have cleared leather and perforated the piece of human debris.

I've got a snub-nose .38 revolver that I inherited from my paternal Grandfather. He was a Baptist preacher, and actually used it (without having to fire a shot) back in the great depression to disuade a guy that tried to rob the congregation.

Folks been robbing churches for a long, long time.
