Broke the links in the article due to some going to David Duke's site and such, but here is the 1981 NYT article on the subpoenas and Paul's connection to Don Black.

Ever thought about directing some of that hate towards the current occupant of the oval office?

A timely article, considering that Don Black endorsed Ron Paul last month on December 28th:

"we agree with his [Ron Paul's] stand on the issues, which we believe are heartfelt, coincide with ours."

Has Ron Paul refuted and rejected such an endorsement?

C'mon you PaulKooks(c), let's hear from you, trot out your usual excuses.

I remember reading of this when it happened. I believe it was reported as a way to set up a gambling mecca and tax haven.
Course there was no mention of Mr. Paul being involved.

The 80s TV show Wise Guy did a send up of this story. They also did a send up of the Colombians who used Arkansas landing strips to smuggle in coke, though they placed the strips in Tennessee. Few people had heard of these capers and believed they were the creation of CBS’s writers.

The 18 year-old slackers, dopers and porn addicts who support Ron Paul don’t give a crap about any of this. They believe he will legalize their obsessions and NOTHING else matters.

Let me really stir the pot:

Two of these people were “well rumored” to be the financial backers of James Earl Ray, the man who shot MLK.

There is really no doubt that Ray fired the fatal shot, but he obviously never had the money to finance his travel, pre and post shooting.

Somebody paid the bills, and two the people mentioned here were suggested by “usually reliable sources” to be involved in some way, but with nearly not enough evidence to ever indict.

from the NY Times link you posted:
- The Federal authorities said today that John Connally, former Governor of Texas, and Representative Ron Paul, Republican of Texas, had no connection with a plot to overthrow the government of a Caribbean island-—

So much for “Ron Paul Was Implicated In Failed White Supremacist Island Invasion”. Not true. He was not implicated.Article written by Casey Gane-McCalla, Lead Blogger
“Gane-McCalla is a writer, editor, rapper, producer and actor. He is a Columbia University Graduate and previously worked in the non-profit sector.”
Your source is a community organizer from Obama’s alma mater. And a blog “FOR BLACK AMERICA”. I generally don’t accept allegations of racism from racist websites.

I get a real hoot out of these articles and I hope you’ll continue to post them.

Y’know it’s really something to see the anti- Ron Paul folks getting themselves all worked up about THE PAULBOTS!!!given that the total number of FReepers who openly support Ron Paul is easily less than a dozen.

Wow. A whole dozen FReepers don’t buy into the anti-Paul orthodoxy and you’d think the mongol hordes were invading for the stridency of the comments. Perhaps those of us who do support Ron Paul should take that as a backhanded compliment?
