Higher Tax, Pro-ObamaCare Democrat Joins 2nd CD Race
-- Democrat Paul Hirschbiel is a staunch proponent of bigger government, higher taxes --
Apparently having learned nothing from major Democrat losses in 2009, 2010, and 2011, yet another big government, tax and spend Democrat has announced a run for political office.
Democrat Paul Hirschbiel announced today that he's challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Scott Rigell in the 2nd Congressional District.
So what does Paul Hirschbiel stand for? Unfortunately for him, the same thing every other Democrat in Virginia stands for - higher taxes, bigger government, and more federal involvement in our daily lives.
Hirschbiel told the Accomack Democrat Committee in December that there's no way he'd vote to repeal ObamaCare, despite the public outcry against it.
"I am absolutely in favor of that law," he said. Would he vote to repeal it? "No, no, no, no."
Like higher taxes? You'll love Paul Hirschbiel:
Hirschbiel was a member of then-Democrat Gov. Mark Warner's "Tax Reform" Advisory Group that helped Warner push through the largest tax hike in Virginia history (an item conveniently left off his official bio).
But Hirschbiel has done more than just talk about higher taxes. He gave $50,000 to Leadership for Virginia, a PAC set up to help legislators who backed Mark Warner's tax hike.
Statement of RPV Chairman Pat Mullins:
"Let me be the first person to welcome Democrat Paul Hirschbiel to the 2nd District race. With his long record of supporting higher taxes, and his unabashed support of ObamaCare, I think the voters of Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore will respond to his campaign the same way they've responded to similar Democrats over the years - by voting Republican."

The 2nd District won`t make the same mistake as in 2008. This guy`s dead in the water.
