Last night a couple of Freepers pinged Jim Rob to ZOT me, for stating the following. “Both Romney and Newt have some serious flaws to be sure, but between the two I would rather have Romney as the nominee, matched up of course with a helluva VEEP yet to be picked.” My opinion and nothing more. That’s worth getting banned for? Sad day on FR if it is.
It is sad. I don't want Romney, can't stand him but I respect your right to support him. Even more discouraging as of late is the hostility from other posters. This board should be a magnet for conservatives who want to share viewpoints and opinions. I've always thought of it like that anyway.
I hope it continues, it's been a valuable resource.
Look, I’ve taken a whack or two myself when I diverged on a criticism of some personality or another who had been annointed on FR. (Even really NASTY stuff, I might add.)
I have the bruises to show for it.
At first I didn’t get it either.
But, what I learned is that if you can never contribute anything positive, ever, to some icon of FR, then you take it somewhere else.
Newt has been more than annointed. He has been ENDORSED OFFICIALLY by FR, so messin’ with the endorsee is like hangin’ out at Newt’s campaign headquarters and whining about the candidate. It will get you canned.
This is simply campaign headquarters for Newt Gingrich.
And I thank God for it. One small corner of the world where at last no milquetoasts are allowed for long.
