I'd cut Sweden a little slack on that. Even in 1944 the Nazis could have occupied Sweden if they so desired. It would have been bloody, but they could have done it.
Sweden = one well-armed man
Nazi Germany = a dozen well-armed SWAT members
Sweden has occupied (most of) Germany.

Germany has never occupied Sweden. In fact, no other country has ever managed to.

Maybe, maybe not.
When the Russians invaded Finland in the 1939 Winter War, they got their butts kicked. More than 1 million Russians died. As a Russian general said: “We took just enough territory to bury our dead.”
And the Russians did kick the Nazis’ butts.
In ancient times, people feared the Norsemen. Monks in medieval Britian started their prayers with this: May God protect us from the Norsemen.
I, for one, want these Norsemen on our side.
