Tebow doesn't rule out possible future in politics
From Home Page of NFL Official Website ^ | By Simon Samano

I made a comment there because they were contending he couldn't be President since he was born in the Philippines but both of his parents were and always have been American citizens (from Jacksonville, FL). As far as I know I think that makes Tim a natural born, US citizen.

Since the Dems believe that American soldiers should be punished for risking life and limb and denied the right to vote so it wwouldn't surprise me they would try to deny the American born son of two American missionaries HIS rights as they were actually feeding the indigent in a 3rd world nation - instead of leaving it to the UN and our tax dollars... check it out

If you’re in a winning position, you strike while the iron’s hot.

It would be a good thinf for Tebow to run for office, because there’d be no passing of the buck then.

At least not from him. :)

Until this ugly primary is over with and we have a nominee, I’m content with keeping my Tebow for President bumper sticker on my car.

Oh my goodness. Tebow is NOT eligible for President. It amazes me how some of you guys are so ignorant of the basic requirements of becoming President. Our schools are failing in basic civics. Sad. I NEVER thought a FREEPER would be so inadequate though.

It’s all part of the long range plan. He’s 24 I think. He marries Willow Palin(I think mom would approve), runs for Governor and then runs for President in 2032, right after Michelle Obama’s 8 yrs are done.

Or not.

Why are you being so rude? I simply pasted a link to an article. Geez, don’t be such an ass.

I didn’t even know you posted this nonsense. I was answering your ridiculous notion that you want Tebow to be President this year. That is so incredibly far fetched and unrealistic. He is FAR FAR FAR from 35. Why you don’t know your dreamy crush can’t be President at this time is so scary. It is not so bad that you don’t know that but by posting this, you are confusing others into thinking your post is a great idea. We are a group of VERY knowledgable political types but if we have lerkers reading your inaccurate post, what are they going to think of the site? See how that happens and you think I am rude. I refuse to allow you to make this site look anything less than intelligent.

He may not be eligible for presiedent, but there would be no reason he couldn’t be a congressman or senator.

Lerkers? Knowledgable?

I'd say the kettle is calling the pot black.

What is the law concerning people born over seas to American parents, whether they are in the military or in missionary work? I am certain that there are many fine people whose parents served G_d and country in foreign lands who would do well here at home.

Tim Tebow is 24 years old. He will be eligible for Representive in this next election, since he will be above the age of 25 when he would be sworn in. However, he would have to wait until he is 30 years old to be a senator. As far as state legislation and state senators, maybe.

I didn’t read the article you posted and get the idea Tim Tebow was going to run for President or anything anytime soon. It was something he may do when his playing days are over. Good post.

If he’s giving an honest effort on the field, he’d probably give an honest effort in office.

It also depends how long he’s been a citizen as well. My understanding is that you have to be a citizen for ten years to run for the house and 15 to run for the Senate.

You should have quit while you were ahead. He's not old enough to be a congressman or senator. The age limit for the House is 25. The age limit for the Senate is 30.

Well, I am running under the presumption that he’s not finished his football career yet. :)

I also know that it depends how long he’s been a US resident, because he was born in the Phillipines. I believe that its 10 years, if he wants to run as a congressman, and 15 years, if he wants to run as a senator, from the moment he received his citizenship papers.
