After an inquiry by U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., the Pentagon is reversing a decision to limit the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad’s access to the ceremonial rifles they use for military burials.

And to ensure other veterans don’t face similar red tape, Kline also is introducing legislation that will enable the Army to loan or donate excess rifles to eligible organizations – including local chapters of the American Legion and VFW.

The move comes after members of the Rifle Squad complained to Kline, a retired Marine Colonel, that the Army wanted to recoup a number of their vintage ceremonial rifles, forcing many of the group’s aging members to adjust to more modern, unfamiliar weapons.

My Congressman, John Kline. Carried the "button" for a couple of Presidents. Yhis is a follow-on to a story that I posted her when the rifles were initially demanded to be given up in favor of non-traditional cemetary tribute rifles.

Thank you, John Kline!

Kline keeps a low profile. Hope he steps up in the future.

“Hope he steps up in the future.”

I, also.

I see him every year at the county fair and give him an earful.

My question is what is happening to the Army? They are becoming dumbasses from political correctness (The Ft. Hood massacre as a workplace occupational disaster to Rules of Engagement in Afghanistan).

Glad my son fought in Iraq under a President and Army leader (Gen. Tommy) and a division (3rd ID), that wanted to win.

Today, all the Army wants to do is bend over and kiss Obama’s ass, and that of Panetta, a leftwing fool.

You are correct. Most Senior Generals/Admirals in the Military are corporate punks.

It was really bad in the 90s when Slick Willie was in charge. They (the Military Corporiate Elite) had not seen is coming and were scrambling to become PC, without telling the rest of us underlings that we were left out on our own.

Can you say current conflict in AFFFY Land? Same thing.

The military (Army) is good at killing! So it should be. The military (Army) is not expected to be the political stooges of the now current administration, however, the Brass forget that.

They haven't had the stock in stock for 40 years. You have to order a new whole rifle and swap out the stocks. The item manager for this stock number must not want to be bothered. They might not have blanks in stock. It costs real money to make these.

Boy, you can say that again.

Guess those chair polishing generals are not only ready, willing, and able - but actually eager - to kiss political (as in Leftist) butt for promotions.

When John Kline was first running for office, I was working for Lockheed Martin and he showed up in front of the building. I asked him if I could take one of his signs and he said yes.

There was a news reporter present and I got his attention. After John Kline departed, the reporter asked me why I was such a strong supporter and where I lived. The reporter was even more shocked, when he realized that John Kline was not even in my home district.

As we walked to my car carrying the sign, I explained to the reporter something very simple: It does not matter what district I may live in, but once elected, John Kline will be representing me in Washington.

I trust him and wanted him to represent me.

Twelve years later, John Kline has never let me down!
