Snow in Europe cuts off tens of thousands
AFP via Yahoo! News ^ | February 11, 2012

Snow drifts reaching up to rooftops kept tens of thousands of villagers prisoners in their own homes Saturday as the death toll from Europe's big freeze rose past 550.

More heavy snow fell on the Balkans and in Italy, while the Danube river, already closed to shipping for hundreds of kilometres (miles) because of thick ice, froze over in Bulgaria for the first time in 27 years.

Montenegro's capital of Podgorica was brought to a standstill by snow 50 centimetres (20 inches) deep, a 50-year record, closing the city's airport and halting rail services to Serbia because of an avalanche.

Eight more people were reported to have died in Romania, taking the toll for the country to 65, three in Serbia, one in the Czech Republic and one in Austria.

Forecasters expect the cold snap, which started two weeks ago, to continue until mid-February.

Don’t you know that weather is different than CLIMATE?

And it’s not Global Warning, it’s Climate Change.

I once called one of our Demo Senators and asked if the Senator was going introduce legislation to move LA< DC, NYC etc because of the rising oceans that was a natural result of global warming.

The phone answerer fell for it!!!! Made my day.

Montenegro's capital of Podgorica was brought to a standstill by snow

After World War II, Podgorica was renamed Titograd, after Yugoslavia's red dictator Joseph Broz "Tito." When Yugoslavia vanished, all of its Communist place names, such as Titovo Užice (now just plain Užice) and Svetozarevo (now Jagodina--no longer named for a Communist hero) disappeared as well.

Problem Warmists have is that some of us have looooong memories; still waiting for them to justify their declaration a few years back that snow was a thing of the past.

Or the ice age they warned us about back in the 1970’s

The warmists declare that all climate change is due to man-made CO2 and nothing is affected by the solar cycle or any solar variation.

Somehow or other, they manage in Alaska, even when the snow is all the way up to the roofs. They even manage in New York City, when the Sanitation Workers decide to stage a job action just when they need to plow, and Mayor Bloomberg is vacationing in Bermuda.

Difference in attitude, I guess. Europeans are more inclined to sit there and wait for the government or someone else to come to their rescue.

But America is heading that way, too.

I have a German friend actually asking where Global Warming is when you need it. For the most part, Germans are fully behind the scam, so it’s pretty serious when they start saying that.

He’s been reporting below-freezing temps for a week in mid-Germany, consistently lower than Nome, Alaska, day and night. It hasn’t even hit freezing in this time.
