Newt won't campaign in Michigan
Politico ^ | 2-21-2012 | EMILY SCHULTHEIS

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Newt Gingrich will not campaign in Michigan in advance of next Tuesday's primary there:

Spokesman R.C. Hammond confirmed Monday night that the campaign is scrapping tentative plans to travel to Michigan at the end of the week ahead of the state’s Feb. 28 primary.

Gingrich is spending Tuesday and Wednesday in the other Feb. 28 primary — Arizona — but that is mostly for the sake of Wednesday night’s debate, and his public schedule will be light.

Hey, as a Newt guy, I’m all for Santorum stealing Romney’s thunder in a state that Romney is “supposed” to win. Maybe if Michigan goes to Santorum, people will start calling for Romney to drop out of the race?

Nah, probably won’t happen, unfortunately.

“So the Newt backers here should STFU and quit repeating media twists and bs headlines about Santorum, at least for the Michigan race and in Michigan threads. The bottom line is do you want Romney or not?”

Gotta love the totalitarianism nature of Ricks people, most of whom were all too happy to repeat “media twists and bs headlines” about Newt in Florida.

Either you have to back empty suit A or you back empty suit B. No dissent from the son of Christ will be tolerated!

Sad to see Newt not come to my state, but I’ll let Rick’s self-righteous groupies pull him over the finish line instead of reward him with my vote.

If it hobbles Mitt Romney, it’s a good thing.

I agree with Newt on this.

If the strategy is to bitc# slap Romney, good.

I didn't say anything about him in Florida, nor did I ask him to drop out.

I'm just trying to take out Romney.

Newt HIMSELF. Yes. Many of Newt's supporters and their vanities and the like and the spamming posts and repeating a lie about Santorum's vote on the freedom of choice act as a house member (he actually voted against it twice, and never voted for it). Nope.

My class has run out.

When you are sitting in the next seat even if the place is noisy you tend to hear what other people are saying.

From the mouth of J. H., Sr. talking with the Mayor of Salt Lake City at a Jazz game a few years back. “I’m not going to tell you what I know about Mitt. Even if he’s dirty, he’s better than what we have now.”

I live in Grand Rapids...lots of interest and support for Santorum here...many, many, religious voters...only the local politicals are for Mitt.

The GOP establishment is gonna have a hard day acomin’.

Being at 10% and a lack of funds might have something to do with it?

I have no idea what J. H., Sr. has on Mitt but it must be pretty good. If he has it you can bet someone else also knows. Will Axelrod get his scummy hands on it! I fear so.

Newt knows what he is doing. He is working on taking out Mitt. He has been telling folks that if Mitt can’t win in Michigan he should bow out. Now Newt is giving it to Rick Santorum if Ricky don’t blow it with his run-on mouth about issues that don’t matter this fall. Rick can have this one. Newt is the man, and wise.
