Feb 25, 2012 (Weekend Edition Saturday) The presidential candidate loosened up a bit in his home state, politicking in a way that hasn't happened lately. Many of the states that have voted recently are just too large to shake everyone's hand. But not everyone is giving Mitt Romney a warm welcome ahead of Tuesday's primary.
Mitt Romney is on a bus tour across Michigan, hoping to win the votes of the state where he grew up. With primary day Tuesday, Romney seems to have closed the gap in polls with Rick Santorum.
This trip has the feel of those early days campaigning back in New Hampshire, before any votes were actually cast: the long bus rides, the snowy landscape, even the impromptu restaurant drop-ins.
One spot in Mount Clemens, Mich., is aptly named "The Mitt." Ken Leonard, the owner, says he chose the name for the shape of Michigan the state looks roughly like a catcher's mitt. Then a blogger in town had an idea: Romney should stop by the new restaurant that shares his name.
Leonard emailed the campaign, and a few days later, the blue Romney bus pulled up outside.
"I know this is an exciting race for you guys. It's fun to be in the middle of this race," Romney said. "I'm planning on winning, by the way."
The owners gave him a T-shirt that says "Mitt Happens."

Yes it do.
And if we're lucky, the mess will be cleaned up before too many step in it.
GO NEWT!!!
Yes, go Newt! Volunteer, volunteer, volunteer! :-)
Romney books a football stadium for a major speech and crickets show up...
But remember, it was Palin, according to Rove, Krauthammer, et al, who would fracture the party and get wiped out in a general. LOL!
Poor planning on his part, if you knew South East Michigan where else would he have gone?
Cobo Hall? Nope, Street Rod Show this weekend taking up the building.
Some fancy resturant in "Detwaa" that can hold 1200? Really? Their isn't one...
Rock Financial up in Novi? Can't tell ya, my guess is they have something going on...
I think they pulled this one out of their ear at the last minute, this is much to do about nothing.
And for the record I am in Newt's Camp, I can't stand Romney, but I can't stand the spin on this story either....
LOL, Romney will never wear a t-shirt. The closest to casual he gets is mom jeans and a $400 shirt, and then only to appease the plebes.
Barf Alert!

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination on Sunday, saying he is the most electable candidate in the field.
“He’s the man that can carry the day,” Mrs. Brewer said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Hes the man that can carry the day, Mrs. Brewer said
That’s not enough, Governor.
Just tell us WHY do you think that?
What has Romney ever done for the Republican cause in his whole life?
