The MSNBC comments say it all “alan_static: make it $10 gas. I will happily pay it along with my fellow Americans. Maybe we will see there is a better alternative to this driving culture when we all start driving less, walking more, and build some people friendly cities.”
“wtw of KC
There is no doubt we do live in a lucky country. At $3.73- 4.32 / gallon we should be laughing compared to the rest of the world. In Europe they pay almost 3 times more per gallon than us, in Australia around $5.60 and in China $4.10. Europe has learned to live with high gasoline prices and their vehicle fuel consumption reflects it and puts ours to shame. As for Chinese prices, they can afford to keep them lower, we subsidize them with the interest payments on our $ trillion+ debt to them.”
If the liberals want to compare European cities to U.S. cities they should also compare the age and size of those cities.
Yea. Wait 'til they're paying $20/pound for their tofu.
Only difference is in Europe, you can drive through entire countries on a tank of gas. Here in America, it wouldn’t even get you halfway across Texas.
