Three Occupy Oakland Protesters Charged with Hate Crimes

(Reuters) - Three Occupy Oakland protesters accused of surrounding and taunting a woman before stealing her wallet were charged on Friday with robbery and hate crimes, authorities said.

Michael Davis, 32, Nneka Crawford, 23, and Randolph Wilkins, 24, confronted the woman on the streets of Oakland in February after she told them not to riot in her neighborhood, the Oakland Police said in a written release.

"She was surrounded by three protestors and battered as they yelled vulgar epithets regarding their perception of her sexual orientation," Oakland Police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said.

The female victim was not identified except as a 20-year resident of the neighborhood.

"Her wallet was taken during the crime," Watson said. "The victim broke away from the group and called police, who were able to arrest one suspect near the scene."

Watson said the other two suspects were arrested at a February 29 Occupy Oakland protest.

Each was charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office with felony counts of robbery and hate crimes, Watson said.

An Occupy Oakland organizer could not be reached for comment on Friday evening.

A rallying cry of the movement has been that 1 percent of the population has too much of the nation's wealth and the remaining 99 percent is disadvantaged.

It has lost momentum in recent months after police cleared encampments in New York, Oakland and other major cities.

Where are the lawsuits to make the progressive OWS backers pay for the damage OWS causes?

The SPLC won at least one multimillion-dollar civil lawsuit against white supremacist Tom Metzger claiming his group influenced skinheads who attacked minorities, one attack resulted in the death of a black man.

Metzger and his group WERE NOT accused of funding or providing any material support; he and his group were charged with hate that influenced the skinheads who -- to the best of my recollection -- were not even members of Metzger's group. They read material and listened to recorded messages put out by the group.

Ben and Jerry's, George Soros, and a myriad of other "do gooder" nutcases provide the hate messages AND FUND these stinking psycho, violent aging spoiled brats.

Where are the lawsuits to make the "progressives" pay for the damage they caused?

To the wall, street occupiers!

They’re probably white, self-described heterosexual conservatives, from the pro-life right-wing of the Republican Party. Oh, and they were found with concealed weapons and campaign “tucks” for the Gingrich campaign. Or maybe Santorum.

If Sarah Palin hadn’t had that poster with this victim’s silhouette covered with crosshairs, this hate crime would never have happened.

Clearly these three brave have-nots are the victims here -- of the racism of this "her neighborhood" whitebread xenophobe.

Occupy Oakland protesters arrested on charges of roughing up woman
Sgt. Randy Wingate... said a handful of protesters quickly surrounded the 42-year-old woman and prevented from leaving the area. Her wallet was taken from her purse, and protesters yanked a Barack Obama pin from her clothing, police said.

FROM URBAN DICTIONARY:

1. TEAR DROP TATTOO

The tear drop tattoo has had many different meanings. When they were first worn they meant that the wearer had been incarcerated and or killed someone while in or out of prison. As times have changed however, the teardrop has come to symbolize a friend or fellow gang member or family member that has died while the wearer is incarcerated.
Now however the teardrop seems to have become a fad, which granted has gotten people in trouble.
It has also been used as a gang identifier. If it was on the right it meant you were a Crip or part of the Folk Nation, on the left meant Blood or People's Nation. . .
