Mitt Romney "Asked me to Lunch" - Contest to grow CA Donations
email | 03/16/12 | Mitt Romney

Posted on 03/16/2012 2:57:33 PM PDT by Yaelle

I received this in my email just now. I've never donated to Mitt Romney so I don't know how he reached me. Republican voter rolls?

Below is unredacted except for the name.

"Yaelle,"

I wanted to take a moment to let you know about a chance to meet up for lunch.

This won’t be just any lunch, though. I’ll be bringing the winner out to California to grab a bite with me at one of my favorite burger places.

Donate $5 to be automatically entered for the chance to join me for lunch in California.

I know there are a lot of other things to focus on right now during the election. But these opportunities to meet with supporters and focus on the issues that matter most to you mean a lot to me.

These contests are always fun to be a part of -- especially when a cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate milkshake combo is involved.

So donate $5 today to be automatically entered:

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Mitt

His list of potential donors is sort of good except he asked a kosher eating Jew to a cheeseburger and milkshake, LOL.

Santorum, ask me out for a plain burger or cheese pizza and I'll send you more money...

Also, the more I think about it, he bets $10K on whether his next footfall will be on the square or the crack of the sidewalk... Shouldn’t he be springing for one of the finer restaurants in CA???

Millionaire donors only have so many millions. Now he has to hit up the little people.

Grits y’all?

"Donate $5 to be automatically entered for the chance to join me for lunch in California."

I'd rather donate $5 to Subway and get a foot long sandwich.

The vapid dork’s coefficient of vapid dorkiness (read CsubDness)
is rapidly approaching the maximum allowable value of 1.

I want to know what Romney considers to be his favorite burger place.

Is he wading into the 5 Guys vs In-N-Out debate. Wait, no, it's Romney, he's crappy at debates! :)

I also got the e-mail, and I also found it curious as to how I got on the mailing list. I have actually gotten several e-mails over the past few months from the Romney camp. Not only have I not contributed to Romney, but I won’t vote for him even if he is the nominee.

Now, how he got my name and e-mail address: Unless he got it off of some standardized Republican rolls, I think that there are two possibilities—either from Scott Brown or from John McCain. Most of the people whom I have contributed to are not only conservative, but are so conservative that they would scare the children and the horses. (Think people like Alan Keyes, Pat Buchanan, Rick Santorum, etc.) Brown and McCain are the only two that I have donated to that wouldn’t fit that description. Brown is also from Massachusetts, but I’m leaning toward the McCain camp as the culprit. I have also gotten an e-mail from someone running for Congress in Arizona. I’m betting that Romney is using McCain’s donor list. Might not be so. Just a guess, but that’s what I’m thinking.

Wait. This is sounding familiar. I was asked to a “private lunch”(aka a donor shake down) at a country club here in my town about six months ago with none other than Mittens Romney.

I knew I didn’t want to attend but consulted with Freeper friends here who told me to go and report back(kind of like a spy). So I reluctantly accepted the invite.

Tossed and turned all night. Next morning, I emailed the scheduler and told her that I had changed my mind and would be compromising my values by attending and no, I could not give a donation anyway because I was supporting another Conservative candidate.

She responded by saying that the event was never with Mittens but rather his brother, Doug, and it was cancelled anyway due to the weather problems.

Ummm...It wasn’t even Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs..It was sunny!

So anyone who falls for this nonsense, The Inevitable One is likely too busy and will be a NO SHOW. Hey, maybe Doug is better looking and a nicer guy, anyway..

In lieu of neither, maybe they will send a cardboard cutout or an autographed pic of the candidate.
