Life is like a mountain railway with an engineer that's brave
We must make the run successful from the cradle to the grave
Heed the curves and hills and tunnels, never falter, never fail
Keep your hand upon the throttle and your eye upon the rail
Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In God's praise for evermore
As we roll along the mainline, there'll be storms and there'll be night
There'll be sidetracks unexpected on the left and on the right
But with the straight always before us and our hearts upon the prize
There'll be no disembarkation until we reach paradise
Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In God's praise for evermore
Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In God's praise for evermore
In God's praise for evermore
Those are the words just as I remember them. Daddy always liked trains, probably because his Maternal Grandfather actually owned one.
It was just a single engine with a water carrier which he used in logging. Daddy spent a good bit of his youth at his Grandparent’s. He was so fond of his Grandmother that he named me after her maiden name. He adored his Grandpa.
