I came across a thread on DIGG full of hateful foul mouthed leftists accusing and threatening John Derbyshire for writing a "racist" article. Since in the past I found his articles, particularly on the decline of our culture, very insightful I tried to read the article. I tried various links including just the magazine itself, no luck -- browser timed out.

Either the magazine's site has a very low bandwidth or I suspect it is under some sort of "hackivist" attack.

I also had some timeouts trying to get to taki.com, but was finally able to get their and read the commentary. I started a discussion on this article on the RC Forums and it could very well be that traffic is up on the taki.com website because other websites are linking to it.

BTW, it wasn't a racist commentary, Derbyshire is simply engaging in his version of "The Talk". Black people can engage in "The Talk" and are not considered racist, so why is it racist when a white person engages in the same thing, from the white perspective?

There will be lots of weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth over this opinion piece for the next few days. Derbyshire will probably be punished for it.
The problem is that he speaks reality but reality doesn’t conform to the narrative provided to us by the liberals and race hustlers and those who carry around a big dose of white guilt. The closer to home he hits, the louder the wailing and calls for punishment, and the more severe the backlash.
It doesn’t bother me that black parents provide guidance to their children. What bothers me is that it is considered improper for me to provide similar guidance to mine.

Which is a damn shame.

The only way I’m going to listen to anyone who tries to tear down such a piece is if they can tear it down with facts and logic.

Just watch how the wolves attack They will smear, they will call names, they will act as if they can read his thoughts (and the thoughts will be bad ones), and they will attack his motives (into which they have no insight).

They will tear him apart with every weapon other than the two weapons reserved for those who are right - facts and logic.

The site is getting a lot of traffic, and it probably has low bandwith as well. "Little Green Footballs" has 436 comments on the article (having been attacked as racist himself, Johnson is leading a charge against Derbyshire for the same thing).

A lot of other bloggers have referenced it as well and gotten a lot of comments. I suspect it's a cathartic thing where people find a scapegoat who can be blamed for attitudes that are very widespread.

Most of the articles on the site appear to be inaccessible now. I was able to read Gavin McInnes's article on "hatefacts," though.
