SEATTLE -- Just when they thought Ted Nugent didnt have any more arrows to unleash, it turns out he did: specifically, an arrow aimed at a bear during a hunting trip in southeastern Alaska that has now landed the rocker-turned-outdoorsman in federal court.

‘The problem: Alaska hunting regulations say the first wounded bear fulfilled his bag limit; the second one was an illegal kill. Transporting it off the island made it a violation of the federal Lacey Act.’
Do they have a stand your ground law there?
LOL, not much of an excuse, especially when you're filming it. Now you've got a wounded bear on the loose. What could possibly go wrong - especially over time, after you leave and the wound gets infected?
Shoulda tracked it and killed it, Ted. But you know that.
P.S. Look out for any blowback against your gun rights. Federal convictions tend to invoke all sorts of restrictions.
Depends on what kind of Bear.. Black, Griz, or Brown..
Step 1: Shoot bear.
Step 2: Locate bear.
Step 3. Harvest bear.
Step 4. Rinse.
Step 5. Repeat.
Bears wound each other fighting, and a superficial wound with an arrow would likely heal right up. If the bear was only nicked there wouldn’t be much point in tracking it too far. This just sounds like more overreach and federal BS to me.
I suspect Ted’ll get off with a healthy fine and will enjoy the extra bear with a nice single malt.
But, there are no wild bears in Africa, therefore they have no case/s;)
They've got apparently some crazy law in Southeast [Alaska] that says if you even touch an animal with an arrow, it becomes your animal, Ross told the paper. He looked to see if he had hit it and didn't believe that he'd hit it fatally.
Well - hard for me to say, as I wasn't there, nor have I seen any video on this... If he was filming, one would think there would be some good video evidence that the shot was not fatal (or even crippling). But with the Alaskan law being what it apparently is - an arrow (or bullet, I would assume) is well off the mark and you clip hair - you have "filled your tag". Something is a bit strange (or messed up) here.
Fish & Game is begging everybody to kill some bear before the moose are extinct; and the feds are playin politics with Sweaty Teddy. We got 8 bear outta my stand last June and plan on really puttin a hurtin one them this year, tagged a grizz in Sept; saw 6 more in blueberries while moose hunting. They should thank Ted for doing them a favor. Locals shoot every bear they see up here along the Yukon.
It’s called payback. Chicago style
Federal rap !!!!!!!!!!! You know obama and Holder are burning up the phones trying to pressure the judge and prosecutor into giving him the max. Plus, Holder probably has a 40-man U.S. Attorney/Investigator task force trying to figure out how to get him for Federal firearms violations so they can prohibit him from ever again owning a firearm or even shooting one.
For bears or for hunters? lol
If you could set that up as a cage match on PPV I'd pony up the fee.
Obama is going to “get” Nugent, one way or another. Breitbart is dead (yes I think foul play), they tried to get Palin many times, tried to get Rush many times, and now the focus is Nugent.
Yes. It's a stupid, unethical law, deliberately constructed to maximize the ability of the authorities to exercise arbitrary discretion to prosecute and levy fines.
