Actually that's false. DeGeneres lent herself to pro-abortion ads back in the 90s, and has been very active on Twitter about how cool the gay president is.
She is the epitome of political activist in her off hours.

Ellen DeGeneres Rips One Million Moms’ Anti-Gay Boycott, Thanks JC Penney Partnership Supporters
On an episode of her show today, DeGeneres speaks at length about the online boycott launched by OneMillionMoms.com, a division of the American Family Association, who have pressed the retail chain to replace the talk show host because she is a lesbian.
“They wanted to get me fired, and I’m proud and happy to say that JCPenney stuck by their decision to make me their spokesperson,” she says. “Which is great news for me because I also need some new crew socks.”
Reading through several comments written in her defense on the group’s Facebook page, she goes on to note, “I usually don’t talk about stuff like this on my show, but I really want to thank everyone who is supporting me. Here are the values I stand for: I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you’d want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for.”

She literally killed her sitcom by coming out.
She is a symbol.
I can’t watch her.

You don’t call dressing like a man showcasing her views?

She's not funny.
She's not even likeable.
Reminds me an awful lot of Mitt Romney.
Those folks appeal to a certain type I guess.

Didn't Ellen have Michelle Wookie Obama on her show doing push ups and dancing. I don't recall her inviting Laura Bush on her show.

I really like Ellen, she is very funny likeable person, she doesnt use her show to soapbox her political views Except when Matthew Sheparad was killed, she jumped on the "blame the homophobic America campaign", and gave a ranting interview, looking like she spent a double shift over a deep-fryer.

she doesnt use her show to soapbox her political viewsMaybe she learned from experience as this is exactly what torpedoed her first show.
