Several weeks ago, as further information and discovery came to the surface the whole framing of the original media narrative began to crumble, I stumbled over a reference to DXM in Trayvons Facebook history.
Its nagged at me since, at various times popping to the front of my mind when Trayvons drug use was mentioned, was quickly lost to other distractions. A couple of evenings ago it again came to the forefront of consideration. This time I decided to dig in, do a little research, and see if there might actually be something to it.
What I found was frankly, quite stunning. So much so that it literally made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

Gangsta Lean?
That's from a song in 1972 that predates both Skittles (1974, made commercially in the U.S. in 1982) and the Arizona brand (1992), though Robitussin apparently was being used back as far as 1967 to get high.

If this is the answer to why Treyvon is dead, then why have the police not mentioned it.
Because once he got shot, they're not interested in why Trayvon would have gone nuts and started beating on Zimmerman. They're only interested in the immediate circumstances and the cause of his death.
