Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker is borrowing a tactic from the George Clooney fundraising book, planning a campaign dinner for President Barack Obama and offering a chance to win two tickets with $3 online donations.

Parker, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick, sent an email to supporters and appeared in an advertisement on Sunday's MTV Movie Awards telling people of the online donations and tickets to the affair at her New York home.

"I'm hosting this event on June 14th because there is so much at stake this year and I want to keep doing what I can," she wrote in the email. "I hope you'll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York."

The email ask for donations of "$3 or whatever you can to be automatically entered." Parker's spokeswoman confirmed the event and the email but did not give further details about the cost of tickets for the fundraiser or how many people were expected.

Oscar winner Clooney hosted a dinner last month at his home in the Los Angeles area where some 150 people paid $40,000 a ticket to see the president.

The event raised nearly $15 million with more than half coming from small-amount donors who entered an online ticket raffle by pledging donations of $3 or more. The winners were Beth Topinka, a science teacher from New Jersey,

Poor planning. A tie-in with the Belmont Stakes (and possible Triple Crown Winner) would have been a natural.

Without knowing her politics, I have always totally despised just this arrogant phony woman.

My instincts were totally correct.

My understanding has always been that the show was written about gay men in NYC by gay men in NYC. The lead roles were replaced with females. The appeal for women was that here you had four friends, only one of whom could be considered attractive. The attractive friend has a monogamous relationship with a VERY unattractive man. The other three are constantly involved with men much more attractive then themselves. What part of this are you having difficulty understanding? It’s fantasy.

A number of years ago, this moonbat Sarah made a public statement that Rush Limbaugh should “be taken off the air.”

Another “tolerant” liberal.

As usual, liberals are exempt from the law :

New York Constitution, Article I,Sec. 9.1.

.....except as hereinafter provided, no lottery or the sale of lottery tickets, pool-selling, book-making, or any other kind of gambling, except lotteries operated by the state and the sale of lottery tickets in connection therewith as may be authorized and prescribed by the legislature, the net proceeds of which shall be applied exclusively to or in aid or support of education in this state as the legislature may prescribe, and except pari-mutuel betting on horse races as may be prescribed by the legislature and from which the state shall derive a reasonable revenue for the support of government, shall hereafter be authorized or allowed within this state; and the legislature shall pass appropriate laws to prevent offenses against any of the provisions of this section.

New York Consolidated Law

Sec. 5-417. Contracts, agreements and securities on account of raffling, void.

All contracts, agreements and securities given, made or executed, for or on account of any raffle, or distribution of money, goods or things in action, for the payment of any money, or other valuable thing, in consideration of a chance in such raffle or distribution, or for the delivery of any money, goods or things in action, so raffled for, or agreed to be distributed as aforesaid, shall be utterly void.

Now this next one is interesting. The RNC should buy a few million dollars worth of tickets then file a class action suit:

Sec. 5-423. Money paid for lottery tickets may be recovered by action.

Any person who shall purchase any share, interest, ticket, certificate of any share or interest, or part of a ticket, or any paper or instrument purporting to be a ticket or share or interest in any ticket, or purporting to be a certificate of any share or interest in any ticket, or in any portion of any lottery, may sue for and recover double the sum of money, and double the value of goods or things in action, which he may have paid or delivered in consideration of such purchase, with double costs of suit.

Any person who shall have paid any money, or valuable thing, for a chance or interest in any lottery or distribution, prohibited by the penal law, may sue for and recover the same of the person to whom such payment or delivery was made.

No, it’s from way beforeher stupid show, the premise of which I could never care about in a million years.

Dave Letterman used to talk her up big and I just did not get her appeal.

Oh, well. No matter. Just dishing dirt on the dopey zombie Ob fund raisers.

I am beginning to believe that the acting profession and the lifestyle it brings makes those in it numb to what is going on in the political scene. Instead of having the sensitivity that creative people should have, that sensitivity is lost and what replaces it is a mindless lockstep recitation of a political script—just what they do when they are faced with a movie script. I am sure any person, who is forced to act through a script with fifty takes to get a director’s idea of perfection, may be driven completely insane. There is enough evidence from the acting community that too many are not acting with a full deck even though they have all the material rewards necessary for happiness.

Don’t give an excuse for these self absorbed creeps. They seek to be actors

because the real world does not bring self glory.
