“why was this closed and when will it open? I had plans for the Gila...”

The Gila was closed because it is considered an “island” in a “corridor” of migratory animals. The Forest ‘Service’ decision to burn the forest was a libtarded choice in order to ‘restore’ said “island” and “corridor”. The damage is done. Flooding is now the concern.

Between the Wallow Fire and this fire, I may have to moove East into the plains....

Looks like some of the lower, Turkey Creek and Gila River areas are open. There is more than enough beautiful land there to keep someone busy for awhile. It should be loaded with animals that fled the fire. ...Not saying the fire and road closures are a good thing, just that there are still adventure opportunities there.
