The Texas Sydicate (prison gang) guy was convicted and served time for two murders. Ten years for a '85 murder of another drug dealer and unknown time for a '72 murder. Had the liquor license in his wife's name. The drug deals out of the restaurant had been going on at least a decade. How many times is he going to get slaps on the wrists?

The band dude may have just put a bounty on his head by running his mouth.

Police say Pardo and his team were selling between $3,400 and $6,250 worth of heroin each day. His restaurant and home behind Jovita's were two of 10 locations raided at 5 a.m. Thursday.

[...] Police said Pardo has been convicted twice for murder -- once in 1972 and again in 1985. The 1985 conviction was out of Harris County.

According to a Houston newspaper, Pardo shot and killed a man from whom he bought drugs and served eight years for the crime.

Police also said Pardo and his brother who was arrested are documented members of the Texas Syndicate prison gang.

I think channeling several thousand dollars a day into the hands of a violent criminal is an excellent idea - that's why I support the War On Drugs. </sarcasm>
