There you go again, putting words in our mouths. I have found at least two acceptable conservative candidates. And I've not tried all that hard.

Everyone who is put forward has to face the knives of those who do not consider them conservative enough.

There is no understanding of where the actual voters really stand. The point is to attract enough support to actually WIN elections.
