Turkey warns Syria away from its border

BEIRUT (AP) - Turkey warned Syria on Tuesday to keep its forces away from the countries' troubled border or risk an armed response - a furious reply to the downing of a Turkish military plane last week by the Damascus regime. NATO backed up Turkey and condemned Syria for shooting down the plane but stopped short of threatening military action, reflecting its reluctance to get involved in a conflict that could ignite a broader war. Near the capital of Damascus, meanwhile, Syria's elite Republican Guard forces battled rebels in some of the most intense fighting involving the special forces since the uprising against President Bashar Assad's regime began in March 2011, according to activists. Assad appeared to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation while addressing his new Cabinet on Tuesday in a statement broadcast on Syrian state TV. He said his country is in a "genuine state of war." Up to now Assad has described the uprising against him as run by terrorists carrying out a foreign agenda.

OK. We want peace, Turkey. We won't let them come near Borders. Can we take our troops to Barnes & Nobles?

It appears Turkey is intent on starting something. They’ll either start making cross border incursions or shelling Syrian targets.

Erdogan is feeling his oats.

Another NATO instigated war to put Al Queda or the Muslim Brotherhood in charge. Just another day of living in Bizarro World.

If Russia attacks Turkey from the rear, would Greece help?

What is Turkey waiting for? One plane was downed and another was shot at.

Who are we rootin’ for?

The main question is why did Obama fail to support the uprising in Iran, but he is now giving support to the Syrian rebels ? The Oligarchy running the US (RINO/DINO Clan) did not want war with Iran back when it was needed. For some reason now however, they want war with Syria. And on top of all that, they are losing control of Obama's ego (see intel leaks).

Obama is arming the “rebel” islamists. Same as Libya.

This is the O'Zippy/Hillary/Panetta/Soros Gulf of Tonkin incident.

Greece hates Turkey so it would probably help but KY might also be of some use.

Because the freedom fighters in Iran were rebelling against the moslem whackjob terrorists that threw out the Shaw of Iran during the Carter administration.

He can't have that now...can he.

However, the Oil Embargo Sanctions against Iran start on July 1st. Obama delayed them, but they are still scheduled to go into affect, last I heard. And Iran has claimed it will block the Straits of Hormuz if the Oil Embargo is enforced.

The uprising in Iraq was nowhere near as big or successful as Syria. Both countries are run by Shiites though. Personally I think we'll be at war with one or the other by the time November rolls around. I wouldn't put it past Obama to chase the Jewish vote by starting something with Iran.

Either way, we're going to end up in the middle of another "civil" war between the Shiites and Sunnis. Happened in Iraq, will happen again.
