Clear Channel is to take over WFNX 101.7 on 7/23 or so. Turns out domain http://www.Talk1017.com was reg. on 7/3 to domains by proxy via godaddy and redirects to talk1200.com. Header says Talk101.7 Express Yourself. Could be...? Or maybe just throwing us off. Stay tuned
...?

Poss. formats for 101.7 and/or 1200 incl. Spanish, cons talk, liberal talk, Fox Sports (curr on 98.5 owned by CBS but CBS is to soon launch their own sports network. Clear Channel/Premiere syndicates Fox Sports. Kepp in mind Clr Chnl wants to “clear” (air) shows like Rush in Boston...and nationwide talk shows are finding FM homes.

For awhile Clr Chnl simulcast 1200 on the HD 2 of 107.9 but it was missing recently. Hmm.

Future home for HC?

Mitt Romney wallowing in big Dem footsteps

You’re Mitt Romney, and you’re running ahead of where Ronald Reagan was at this point in the summer of 1980 (he was trailing Jimmy Carter by 9 points). But all of a sudden, you’re reading headlines like this one in the Weekly Standard yesterday:

“Dukakis, Kerry ... Romney?” Is it that bad, or is it just a slow holiday week?

Then you pick up the Wall Street Journal and it gets worse in the lead editorial, as they’re laying into “the Boston boys” and “the Boston coterie” and “the campaign’s insular staff and strategy.”

What happened to the Romney rapid response team, which had an ad on the Internet within two hours after Obama said, “The private sector’s doing just fine”?

That was, what, three weeks ago?

And now your organization’s being compared to Dukakis’ 1988 Hindenburg of a campaign?

You’re Mitt Romney, and you need to have a talk with Eric Fehrnstrom.

Like, first of all, Eric, what were you doing on MSNBC in the first place?

There are no Romney voters watching MSNBC, but that was where Fehrn-strom said Obamacare’s individual mandate is a penalty, not a tax.

Mitt had to go on CBS of all venues to straighten out the mess.

Guys like Fehrnstrom are supposed to be cleaning up the mixed messages left behind by the candidates, like David Axelrod had to do when Obama opined that the “private sector is doing fine.”

You’re Mitt Romney, and it doesn’t seem you should have to be bringing Eric a new pair of shoes every time he steps in a steaming pile of it on live TV.

In March, it was on CNN — again, why was he even there? — that Eric talked about how Romney’s fall campaign would be like an Etch a Sketch do-over.

That was just wiseguy talk, as if Eric thought he’d already graduated from campaign flack to cable pundit.

If Charles Krauthammer had come up with that line, everyone would have nodded.

But Eric is still Charlie McCarthy to your Edgar Bergen.

And by the way, the “senior strategists” don’t make any real dough as a pundit unless they actually win a presidential election ... like Karl Rove, for instance.

Rove now works for Rupert Murdoch, who kicked off the whole What’s-wrong-with-Mitt? debate with his tweet Sunday:

“Met Romney last week. Tough O Chicago pros will be hard to beat unless he drops old friends from team and hires some real pros. Doubtful.”

Have any particular pros in mind, Rupert? Anybody who has a column in the Wall Street Journal, say?

You’re Mitt Romney, and you know what they always said about why the Mass. Democrats, from Dukakis to Kerry to Coakley, always get crushed in the nat— ional races — because they think it’s over once they win the primary.

And now they’re saying in effect that you’re behaving like ... a Massachusetts Democrat.

You’re Mitt Romney, and it’s time to ask Eric Fehrnstrom, “Who would you rather be compared to in your obituary, Karl Rove ... or John Sasso?”
