No mention of the economy eh?
I heard a little of Rush's "don't bother with the economy--nobody cares" proposal.
Huh? If true that nobody cares, or that a majority of people are happy with this neo-depression, then the election is moot anyhow.
But if not (and the polls clearly show the Economy @ #1 concern) then ceding the Economy to Obama will let them turn it into a positive. If Romney doesn't cast the economy as bad, Obama will cast it as fantastic....and he's got the magic numbers mill to back up his folly.
Absolutely. As Carville said about '92, "It's the economy, stupid!"
Suggesting Romney ignore the economy to run on "pro-family social policies?" Did that get Romney the GOP nomination? Yes, yes I suppose it did because Rick Santorum ran on that and lost.
"Strong defense" isn't on voter's radar. With OBL gone, and even when he wasn't, any 'threats' are too abstract unless something breaks in the next 3 months.
If true that nobody cares, or that a majority of people are happy with this neo-depression,
Really the people who care are who it effects. There are 8 million people out of work and 10 million under employed. There are tons more that are working and fully employed. The people in the country like to complain but really gas prices are the main factor for most people and they see it falling and think everything is great....What can I say about a group of people who voted for Obama in the first place.
