most Americans figure if you're the chairman, CEO and president of a company that you are responsible for what that company does.

That does make sense, and, it is something that Freepers have been pointing out for months.

This is not new. It was all over Free Republic during the Gingrich/Romney/Perry wars.

The left has been desperate to destroy the legitimate criticism of John Kerry by his former peers and superiors in the US Navy, that knew him as a disreputable, ambitious, treacherous, deceitful, lying traitor to both his comrades and his nation.

Since they couldn't challenge the facts, they pretended that these former US Navy officers and enlisted men were universally partisan, spewing hatred and lies while being paid a fortune to do so by shadowy businessmen.

The the left and their MSM accomplices decided to create a verb of derision, "swiftboating", as an abbreviation of all their libels of these former officers and enlisted men; figuring that the public would forget the truth and only remember their lies. And then they would popularize this nonsense verb by applying it to totally unrelated situations.

So the proper response is that, when they use the term, they should be confronted with pretend confusion. For example:

"Are you suggesting that honorable, US Navy veteran Officers and enlisted men are calling Mitt Romney a lying, deceitful traitor to the United States, who faked military commendations, and traitorously slandered his former comrades before congress, calling them war criminals, in an effort to undermine the war effort, for his own political ambitions?"

"That's what 'Swiftboating' means, don't you know?"

What this accomplishes is to snatch this new verb out of their hands and redefine it as the legitimate criticism of John Kerry for his crimes.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: “I think most Americans figure if you're the chairman, CEO and president of a company that you are responsible for what that company does”.

Does this clown even know what he reads from this teleprompter?

Try this on for size, “0”. “I think most Americans figure if you are the president of a country that you are responsible for what that country does.

In order for this to be “swiftboating” most of the employees of Bain would need to come forward and call Mit a liar. This is just the crats using a word they fail to understand. Nothing new here, just move on.

in saying swiftboating, I'm not asserting that these are false accusations.

Wow, what an economy of words. Two birds with one stone.

He's implying that "swiftboating" is normally associated with "false accusations".

And then saying that these are not necessarily false.

Believe me, Romney isn’t claiming that he didn’t know what his company was doing while he was CEO because of outsourcing. In fact, he’s lying because he wants to pretend he knew nothing about his company trafficking in the bodies of little boys and girls murdered in abortion mills.

Is this attack too early? Maybe Romney will be routed before the GOP Convention?

In that case, there are others ready, willing and able to take up the mantle - if only the GOP establishment has the guts and brains to do it!

Unfortunately, it doesn't. After all, these are the same clueless, ideologically centerless schmucks who carried their last three heroes and big losers - Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, and John McCain - across the finish line to certain electoral disaster.

Ok, let me see if I get this correct.

Romney says in 1999, he left Bain Capitol and all control of the company, to save the Olympics single handedly.

(using over one billion dollars in taxpayers money, IE bail out)

Yet, Romney received a salary and signed all the legal documents regarding the company until 2001-2.

So the simple seems to be this:

Romney may or may not have been in control of Bain, and he may or may not have been CEO or he may or may not have had knowledge of what was going on.

Romney could not have left control and still received a salary or signed documents if he were not still involved.

If he were still involved he knew what was going on, if he wasn't involved why was he still receiving a salary and signing documents.

So the real question is this how many versions of this story are Romney and his team going to tell, fourteen?

Why doesn't Romney just tell the truth?

ROMNEY: That’s ridiculous and disturbing to come from their campaign and beneath the dignity of the president.
